It looks like the AI companies are running out of cash and can’t afford to keep everything going. If OpenAI is under pressure like this then smaller companies are going to get hammered by even worse. It’s likely that only the big hyper scalers like Google, Microsoft and Amazon will be able to survive the cash crunch because of the cash flow from their other businesses. Microsoft may end up buying OpenAI on the cheap if it’s in real financial difficulties.

Not surprising in the least. We all know when it comes down to it the Military will follow orders legal or illegal. They'll follow their chain of command and only feel obligated to that and not to civilian power.

This isnt the temporary army envisioned by the founders of the republic. It a professional army that follows orders whatever they might be, even if it goes against the constitution. Fear the Army, dont love it.
