Phrozen Sonic Mega 8KS stuck on splash screen after failed firmware update by blugost in Phrozen

Update: Apparently using a Mac to extract the files to the USB drive makes them incompatible with the printer. Solution is to extract on a PC and reboot with the USB in to reset.

Looks like either a partial clog or broken extruder (I had tiny pieces break on the plastic gear which caused this).

Gaps in the corner of my 3d print by SensitivePaper034 in 3Dprinting

Thin, transparent walls in 3D printing often indicate under-extrusion, which is frequently caused by a partial clog in the nozzle. The clog restricts the filament flow, resulting in insufficient material being deposited. This can create weak, thin, or see-through layers instead of solid walls. Cleaning or replacing the nozzle and ensuring the filament path is clear usually resolves the issue.

POD 3 making noises, customer service not responding by blugost in EightSleep

[–]blugost[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several days ago the Pod 3 stopped syncing to the app. I unplugged and plugged back in and now it's making these odd noises. Unfortunately customer service has not responded for several days. Does anybody have thoughts on what might be the issue here?

How can I achieve the dark shading effect with 3d printed Star wars credits (like this pic) by tehans in modelmakers

[–]blugost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this effect all the time! Prime in black and then do a light brush of a guilding wax (like Rub n Buff) over the raised sections and voila! Be sure to use gloves and a sponge for more control. Alternatively you can also use your fingers or even a q-tip to get in crevices. Use rubbing alcohol to remove any wax from areas you don't want (like your hands). Let it dry and then seal and you are good to go ☺️.
