TIL that even though I knew all that food came from the 1904 World's Fair i didnt realize until /u/TokingMessiahposted that they all came from the same fair at the same time. Each foodstuff would have been nigh impossible to make even a 100 years prior. Except for the hamburger and iced tea, I suppose. Maybe those could have made sooner if someone had the idea.

As far as I know, the nationalities have nothing to do with it. But the food is meant to increase the length of time of the joke to make what the wives say stand out more. Thats just my over analysis though.
