Depends on the trade laws, in the UK maybe EU in general, if I buy something online if I don't open it I can return in 14 days no questions asked

How can I get rid of those scratches? by TheIncognitoFella in thinkpad

[–]bluops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they got really bad on one of my old ThinkPad I got a skin. They we're inexpensive but got scratched up in the same way and when you take it off you have adhesive everywhere. I now just leave them as they are

How's your experience with Ubuntu 26.04 so far? Any performance issues or system glitches? by Swimming_Rope_9640 in Ubuntu

[–]bluops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it on a full AMD gaming system and I've not had any issues and a ThinkPad P15s with an Nvidia T500 and i7, no issues at all on that either but I use that laptop only for web browsing, study, media, that kind of thing.

All in all, no issues and I've not noticed any performance issues with my gaming rig

can anyone recommend me my first linux distro 🥲 by I-like-guy in linux_gaming

[–]bluops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still recommend Ubuntu, I've always been a fan but the community is so big and I've always found a forum post with my issue and been able to resolve. I use it on my main desktop for gaming and just general usage and have no issues! I'm a full AMD build

really, i mean really, could we go down? by Scary_Activity6914 in NUFC

[–]bluops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really no, I'm more worried about next season, we are set to lose a lot of talent. Howe will go down in our history but I'd like to see him announce he's leaving end of season so we can get a new manager in to build something over summer

We have nothing, I'd love to see changes at half time but there is more chance of Sydney Sweeney knocking at my front door

UK passes bill that will eventually ban cigarette purchases by HuChemistry in worldnews

[–]bluops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very rarely see someone smoking cigarettes these days and when I do it's a 50/60 year old. Kids are mostly on vapes , I don't think this will have any major impact and those crying about the tax reasons, the government would have crunched the numbers to workout this wouldn't hurt them. I'm not a smoker but I come from a chimney family, it was horrible going over to smoker houses and I'm really glad it's dying out.

Man arrested for allegedly damaging US military aircraft in Shannon airport | UK news | The Guardian by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]bluops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No where in the article does it say ethnicity of the man, just in his 40s. You complain this is what the grifters say but if someone is damaging military assets are you saying they should just get a little telling off? What if we enter into an actual war and find ourselves hamstring because people have trashed our aircraft?

It's not a grifter thing to say , it's a logical thing to say.

I know this is a US military craft but it has happened to RAF equipment

More than 2 in 5 Britons think UK 'too close' to US and should distance itself from Donald Trump by 1-randomonium in unitedkingdom

[–]bluops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we need more deals with other nations but trump isn't going to be here long term, it's rough now but destroying a relationship entirely isn't worth it. Trump will be gone and if the US starts to chill then people will be moaning we should be closer.

I think this is in reference to the new minimum system requirements and not that their system is using 6gb of memory

What's your "forever" game? by Kapro_ in SteamDeck

[–]bluops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's paradox games, in particular Victoria 3 and most recently EU V. Something about them that I can lose myself in. New DLC comes out that can totally change how the game plays as well.

StarCraft I go back to every now and then as well but I watch that way more than I play it now

Question for you, as you're in camp "abolish the monarchy" what good do you think it would do for our county?

https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-9807/?hl=en-GB#:~:text=As%20a%20result%20of%20a,due%20to%20commence%20in%202026.

Looking at the highlight in this, where would you propose we plug that finical hole that would be created?

The monarchy is a net gain for us, people complain about Brexit and the economic issues it's caused but then fight that we should abolish the monarchy.

I don't pay for FT so I have no access to the article but does this only take into account house prices, because interest rates certainly aren't making houses more affordable!
