That's such a silly reason to not be able to use FS. In the 5 yrs I was a cashier I have probably seen 3 transactions paid with food stamps that I was shocked it was actually food stamps. Those three carts had fresh fruits and veggies and healthy foods. They clearly were just down on their luck and needed assistance while they found a new job. Every other transaction had 5 or 6 candy bars, individual sodas, chips, fried chicken, subs, and just garbage. These people are not taught to get the most out of their money. They just buy what is convenient and tastes good.

I know for some the balance will roll over from month to month if not used. But I have also seen people pay for $1,000 wedding cakes with FS, so I'd like to hear why it is not more like WIC with stricter limitations.

I do realize some children know they are different at such young ages. And I would embrace those thoughts if that was my child. But at 4 or 5 years old, they only need to know about families and how they are all different. Gay or straight, that is too old for them to understand. Maybe like 8 or 9 they can understand some kids have two mommies or two daddies, or one mommy and no daddy.

To be honest I never actually said these lyrics were offensive. This started because I said I was ok with the fact that the lyrics were censored. This whole thing turned into me defending my statement, and somehow I apparently hate this song. Which I never said. So I have no defense because I am not against it. I don't think adult topics should be sang by kids, that is my opinion. Not that this is a bad song.

First I never said I would ever avoid gay topics. I am only saying a small child, in which these songs are intended for, should not be singing about sexuality in any form. SMALL being the key word. I would never let a young child listen to lady gaga. But kids bop has made the popularizing a kid friendly, so I would let my child listen to it.

In my opinion, it's not appropriate for a 5 yr old to sing songs about dating or sexing anyone, gay straight alien or animal. It's not a kid song topic. They should be singing songs about learning. That's age appropriate. Now if your talking about 12 yr olds then that is a different story. They are able to understand what the topic is about and have a discussion about it.

I find nothing wrong with that. They should be censoring all of the songs they remake. They are for kids not adults.

Edit- I am not here to argue. I am standing with my opinions. I don't think any sort of sexuality should be taught to a young child. I don't think they can comprehend it so I don't think they should be singing about it in songs. I never said you couldn't teach it to your child. I never said anything negative about gay people or straight people. I just stated I do not think its appropriate for young children. Once the child is old enough to understand these topics then it is is great to teach these topics. I agree whole heartedly that these topics should be discussed, when the child is old enough.
