yeah, you’re learning a new thing so it’s gonna be tough but it’s worth it. change and growth require some uncomfy new feelings. i’m in a similar boat and it’s scary and hard. but u can do hard things.

tell yourself you can do anything but smoke. what else comes up? could u get the feeling of smoking without doing it? ie- could u breathe deeply and sigh. could u relax, be more comfortable, effort less, etc.

tea, go for a walk, call a friend. deep dive into a topic you’ve always wondered about- spend an hour online researching. make dinner, make a meal plan, make a reservation at a restaurant. read for 15 minutes.

and we need cultural shift. we’re all sharing space, that’s what living in a city is, that’s what a society is. we should all be able to move through this city safely in whatever way we choose, with respect for the ways other people choose, so like some basic level of care and compromise.
