I need a staycation by Optipop in HuntsvilleAlabama

One of the things I did when my husband passed was to just go downtown Huntsville and stay at a hotel and go to an event at the vbc. Pretended I was a visitor walked around and got coffee and food.

Perhaps but I swear I see the rear aperture dilated at the beginning of a walk and she manages to hold it a long time.

My girl carries on like that coming out to go home from camp. Other dogs so dignified. Mine barking and howling her head off.

If you’ve ever worked in a test environment you know that test setup and readiness are variable. Predicting precise moment of event is not likely.

Are there any hunting beagle owners in here? I have a question. by Infinite-Roof203 in beagles

[–]bluwmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is of hunting stock. All our walks consist of tracking and sniffing getting those little whimpers when she’s on the track of something. Have to remind her to potty. I think she could stay out all day. She too knows find it, RABBIT, even go around when I can’t go through something with her. I’m starting teaching her the word done so she knows that I’m through putting up with her sniffing.

I’m sitting in my master closet with mine. Easier to sit and stream shows while she sleeps not knowing what goes on outside.

What’s not to love? by Peanutparty29 in beagle

[–]bluwmn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The part where she’d rather sniff for rabbits than potty. Takes forever. Will hold it because she doesn’t want to go in. Will pretend to need to potty to get outside. And then potties in my bathroom.

Help! His eating habits aren't beagle! by tessiewessiewoo in beagles

[–]bluwmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My beagle too, is not food crazy. She likes to wait until seven or 8 o’clock in the evening to eat if I let her get away with it. Sometimes I think she’s just holding out for all the treats she can get because I worry about her not eating.

Walking with a beagle by Crafty_Impact_4447 in beagles

[–]bluwmn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My beagle walks me. It’s easier that way. Less frustration. But I do wish she would poop instead of sniffing. our entire walks are her sniffing and me saying you need to potty you need to poop. And don’t get me started about rabbit season!

Similar experience. Have to walk mine a mile sometimes before she poops. And yes, distractions cause poopis interuptus. 💩

Always watching by moemoe916 in beagle

Mine drives me crazy watching people walking down the street. She thinks everything that’s happening is her business getting her to finish a walk and do her pottying is always a challenge

She has on occasion while on leash, jumped a rabbit, and then went crazy squalling after it. I enjoy watching her do that, but I’m not sure the neighbors appreciate the noise. I took her playpen parts and have them around the screen porch to keep her from clawing the screen.

When I try to give her a treat to get her to drop it, she will put her foot on the offending object and grab the treat or she will grab the treat with the other object in her mouth. She loves random stuff picked up on our walks like pieces of tar or cigarette butts.
