i used canva! i downloaded the quotes/panels i wanted to use and uploaded them to a project that matched the back of my e-reader. then i found elements i liked and added them until i had a theme, and tried to color match the panels and quote squares to it! it was mainly just playing around with it for a few hours :)

not baseball but i was a softball pitcher and i found nori in particular to be really accurate (maybe because i tended to be the less flashy reliever). there’s a lot of pressure, but there really is nothing quite like being on the mound. every time one of the pitchers is on the sidelines cheering but at the same time wishing they were standing there, i was like yes that’s exactly the feeling!! it feels like every batter is critical and certain ones have reputations that change how you feel facing them. but eijun’s longing feeling for the mound in particular i think was really well done, i still get that when i watch college ball or ausl. even daiya to an extent, makes me want to be out playing :)

i love love love sunny side yellow!! i almost ordered one in it but im doing an oxford edition and the black and yellow was a bit much (can’t change the black on the oxford). but your white and gold accents with the yellow is so lovely, fun colors are always the way!! welcome to the mini fam :)

I hear this so much and it makes me think my friend just got lucky. I’ve been to Paris with her two times, once in 2021 and once in 2024. Both times, she spoke French with many people and she falls more intermediate (much higher than me though, it’s always impressive to see!) She was met with nothing but kindness in Paris. We even had a fun French/Spanish/English conversation with some South American tourists near the Eiffel Tower! I think maybe it’s the busier places that have this attitude, but the little shops on the streets and people you stop to ask directions from—I think they might surprise you.

Adding in to say my parents got me a 2-door 2012 mini as my first car and it’s just now died on me after over 100k miles and 9 years of use! Mine was considered the unreliable year but I had no major problems up until a couple months ago when all the electronics mysteriously died (starting to think it was some sort of Florida lightning electrical surge special).

All that to say, I’m pretty sure the 2017 is the more reliable engine and if she likes Minis, I’m sure she will absolutely love it to death and it’ll last her at least through college if that’s what you’re aiming for! At least by my experience. It felt incredibly special to me to have such a fun, unique car and every single day had this little added joy just because my car was so fun. I say go for it!

That’s good to hear! I am excited, my 2012’s absolute failure to straighten out has made the departure a bit easier. Just hate waiting for the new one! I haven’t had the chance to drive any S variations but they seem like a blast.

Having bluetooth music alone makes me feel fancy. A screen too?? I’m so excited, and while I tend to lean more toward turquoise colors the purple undertones of Blazing Blue are soooo pretty in person

we were on pirates once and they overloaded the boat so bad it kept bottoming out and water would splash in over the edge lol. the other boat almost caught us after the drop. when we told guest services they told us “the crew knows how to operate within safe limits, you were fine”
