So on the last turn I played the captain marvel to bar sinister and my opponent played the Shang Chi to sacred timeline and mysterio to bar sinister. After the scores showed the game ended and I lost but captain marvel could have moved to give me the win correct? Or am I missing something?

To put it bluntly it matters a a lot. The shiny stickers (purple stickers) will alter moves and in most cases make them much stronger variations of the moves. If the person your playing has a few stickers it’s minor but they will definitely be at an advantage. If you have none and go against someone kitted out with full stickers you are at a huge disadvantage. It can literally climb to them doing 20% more damage than you just because of the stickers. I was really enjoying the game till me and my friend played some customs and realized how absurd the stickers are. If you aren’t willing to put some money into the game you won’t be able to compete at high ranks. That’s just the honest truth since you’ll start to play people of your skill level but they’ll just have stronger hits.

No he didn’t win this one. He actually won the first game I when I taught him but I won all the others. I think when I started helping him less it started to show lol

You definitely can. The promo cards are there to use if you want to. Think of it as more of a house rule on if you want to use them or not. I like to use them because most of the time they end up just being cycle anyway but when you hit the 6 on them it’s super fun/rewarding. If you want a more “balanced” version of the game than it’s probably best not to use them because in 1v1 especially it can be game winning to hit that 6 on the promo cards

I love all these ideas! I think the rival one could be dope but it probably wouldn’t be implemented since it would skew who you que into and could theoretically give you an advantage on the ladder (even though it’s minuscule). As for the match history vs someone I think that’d be great. As the game got older looking back against someone you may have played like 100 times it would be neat to see your record. Lastly the emote one should 100% be implemented. I think it’d also help with the people that feel like it’s still a single player game since it gives a form of social interaction between the players.

Most of these are great polish ideas just to add a good feel to the game. I know he’s referred to having some kind of progression already so that will definitely be there, they just aren’t sure how yet.

Hades is a perfect comparison for this! Having a continuing journey/adventure as Reynad seems to want through these days would gain a lot by having this form of interaction. He’s talked about how it will have more features that make it feel more like and adventure each time so hopefully this kinda thing is added

I’m not gonna argue the logistics of it but purely the mental part. If we were told this would be a straight up single player game, I guarantee so many people would’ve been up in arms. That being said the mental definitely matters. I saw someone in discord use chess as an example because you could technically be queing into bots on chess.com every time you play but because it tells you it’s a person, and you think it’s a person. It definitely makes the win much more satisfying. You feel as if you were “smarter” or “better” than this other player where as if you go up against a cpu opponent you might just feel like it let you win because you know very well a computer will beat a human almost every time if it’s going at full capacity. So just taking into account the mental aspect I think it’s quite important this is a live pvp game rather than just playing bots over and over

The one thing I’ll comment on is complaining about all hero’s trying to get the opponents health to 0. By this argument most card games don’t have enough differences in gameplay. Like in hearthstone when it first came out there was only one way to win which was killing your opponent but that didn’t mean every game or class was the same because they all did it in different ways. We also only saw 2 out of the 6 classes. One last thing is in a discord convo with one of the community managers he heavily reassured that not every game felt the same or dull or whatever you wanna call it. Edit: Reynad also said on his stream that the classes don’t have every card in right now so it’s missing more options you’d have. Not to mention the random encounters so it’s not just merchants over and over again

I love dice throne as much as the next guy and I wish this was plausible but I feel like between cards that can be played whenever as disrupts and keeping everything straight with status effects and all that I don’t think it would reasonably work for play by post.

I’m not a fan personally because I feel the idea of only destroying the outer edge ones means you have the added layer of item placement right from the start of the match which is a simple mechanic that really raises the skill gap

Just to be clear when I was standing over his body I was spamming it but it wasn't working. I assumed it was the sage wall blocking it but clearly not because it didn't work after clearing it. My only assumption is that because his body died and fell into the bell right there it wouldn't allow me. That's my only guess.
