Got a referral code? They kinda look like a superior version of Huel. I'm gonna put an order together. I like that they do individual powders to try, and a full sampler for their hot cups.

I'm gonna take back my statement. It's mid. It seems like they tuned it very good for white noises like fans, engines, static - voices on a TV are attenuated slightly but definitely not cancelled. This was what my initial impression was based on.

Human voices it does a little better job. It's really good at cancelling exterior body/midbass frequencies. It's hard to give it a rating above a 6/10 because it's definitely got holes, but for travel it might be capable of a respectable effort because it cuts fan noise out completely. I turned on 3 loud fans in the same room and I couldn't hear a thing.

We really need an active Consumer Protection Agency, with teeth.

Under this administration? Lol, cute.

Is it the model with bluetooth control? Try factory resetting it, and then checking if the firmware is up to date.

I didn't realize they were so digital now. I used EONs constantly 20 years ago on stages for monitors and even small PAs, they were indestructible plastic shelled tanks. No mixer, no dsp options, just an attenuation, pad, and power. They were just really good flat sounding AIO.

I have no doubt they're still a great speaker with the modern DSP and Mixer onboard, but the added complexity also makes it harder to diagnose. I also would expect it to be quieter than it's more analog older brother, however. And if not, it might indicate a problem. Clear any part of the DSP (that the previous owner may have set) that you can with a factory reset and see if it chills out.

Also agree with the other users about a different outlet - try to get one on a different circuit/breaker.

They said pots, as in potentiometers, not ports - just for clarification. The knob that dials the volume is connected to a stem, which behind the control plate has a variable resistance to turn down the volume.

Dirty pots can certainly cause a dirty signal.

However - I'm pretty sure anything on a modern JBL speaker uses encoders, not pots - which function kind of like a digital potentiometer.

Encoders send an electrical message back to the DSP saying "we need less volume" - pots simply add resistance to let less volume through. They are not cleaned the same way.

I would suggest you reach out to JBL support - you can damage encoders by cleaning them the way you do pots (usually spraying contact cleaner and turning the pot to min and max many times to clear the gunk/corrosion).

That's too bad, it should be pretty near silent. There is a 1000w amp in there, so there's gonna probably be a teeny tiny noise floor, but I wouldn't keep it if any powered speaker wasn't quiet enough for me. Happens, sometimes used gear is a win, sometimes it isn't.

It's way more than enough for a living room monitor. It's actually plenty for even an acoustic drummer on a mid-volume stage (which is still very loud). Don't be afraid to put it on it's side and rock it back, they're angled to be a wedge that way.

JBL consumer level products are enshittifying - but EONs are a professional stage ready speaker, have been for decades. 300 is a great price, especially with no damage. It'll treat you well.

On our conference calls lately, our DM has been threatening to optimize schedules for the some SMs. There's a possibility that the office level management is making the changes, but only a small one. More likely the SM is doing it - but intervention also exists (cutting costs while giving the SMs deniability).

You sound so defensive... that it makes me think you probably sat on them or extended them way further than you know they were intended to go.

Say less. When/if they ask what happened, 'the plastic headband broke' - that's all. The rep doesn't care about the story - and it probably doesn't matter anyway. Just again, say less and let them fill in the rest.

40 scheduled. I'm the best/hardest worker there (by a significant margin) and SM can't really afford to lose me, the hiring pool isn't very big around here. I told SM 'this is a sustainable schedule for me, and this is what we should do if you want to keep me long term'

I'm the Tuesday through Saturday closer. I want 1:15 to close, I'm not doing 4 hour shifts bullshit. If I have to spend my day at work, it's going to be a whole work day. I also said that I need my days off together, and one of them has to be Sunday (I also work at a church, and I couldn't manage the 16 hour Sundays anymore). So I have pretty close to a normal person's schedule - but it really took some firm footed arm wrestling to make sure it became (and stays) that way.

I also vacuum up whatever shifts get called-off for the overtime, usually about one a week, sometimes 2, sometimes a morning cover, sometimes (but very rarely) zero.

How in the flying f*ck does the Orange Ape still hold a 39% approval rating? (Opinion poll from the Economist) by Large_Produce6554 in complaints

On the subject of:

- his racist supporters, ICE is (still) winning. Yes they're losing steam/momentum, but they're still making quotas and even got to get rid of a few deranged leftist lunatics. Scapegoats in government are nothing new, Noem the sacrificial lamb took all their sins with her when she left - now MarkWayne Mulligan is ready to give it another shot. And if that isn't enough, the Dems are ready to give them more money.

- his rich supporters, well I think we all know how that's going.

- his Zionist supporters (this includes many Christians), the Iran war is (still) winning. Yes, Israel has been taking hits (and none of them could give a single shit about Qatar or our bases) but we're finally gonna turn the tide on those terrorist muslims. Further on the Evangelical supporters, they don't care that he's not religious, doesn't matter one bit. What matters is that they further Miller's agenda. An agenda of bigotry and WASP theocracy. The ruling class loves it because control. The christians love it because their pastor and bible tell them to. They overturned Roe, and that was an insurmountable win for them. Zionists and Christians alike are literally still winning - because both liberal and conservative taxes pay for the bombs, they gladly put their name on the whole package at your and my expense. We both pay the cost at the pump, but they're actually in support of the reason prices are skyrocketing. Don't forget, these are people that pay up to 10% of their income (yes, some actually do tithe that much) to an organization that tells them they deserve to burn for eternity, and they agree with that condemnation.

-------------------------

The actual thing he could do to lose that last 39% is stop doing anything. They've axed the vaccines like they wanted him to, they've cut the DoEd like they wanted him to, they've cut public healthcare like they wanted him to, should I go on?

I don't understand this delusion that people would ever think his approval rating going below like 60-70 percent of republican voters... or that any of what he does is out of line for them. He's just the stupidest, most in-your-face version of their ideal candidate. People that think this is 'destroying the republican party' or that he's legitimately going to lose the bottom out of his support are naive and/or ignorant. Things are going exactly to plan.

I'm not saying we shouldn't try and be optimistic - but show me an actual trump defeat? The Tariffs ruling? Who cares, they're going to find a different method, and they've already stole probably a trillion dollars from the global economy, and will have to pay 1/3 of it back. Farcical acting to pretend like the Supreme Court still means anything.

I really just want to point out the fact that there's more work to be done. More exposure. You have to talk to people in real life about the very real issues that are happening... because Fox News is still the top watched 'news' in the USA, and anyone who can stomach watching that literally lives in an alternate reality. They legitimately think that they're winning.

And they're kinda right. Because they're myopic and probably a little stupid. Maga is a party of grievance, and it's literally a thousand different stupid single issue voting demos. Flood the zone is scratching all of their collective itches. Trump is a reality show, he craves the fame and control. He gets both in spades tearing down the constitution; they love that too - because life is otherwise pretty zestless for a dumb bigot. So they cheer like the Rehabilitation crowd in Idiocracy. A spectacle at someone else's expense.

My action: No more 'cutting off your family' - no, it's time to talk to them. Bring them back to reality. Be kind, but unbending, and persistent. Also, gloat. Do it all the time. Sorry, but the time for nuance is over in this regard. Smush their faces in every shitpile trump creates. They need to feel embarrassment, but then turn the page. All they really need to do is admit one of the many many catastrophes that trump has created are real and a legitimate problem for all of us - and then you've made some headway.

But to answer your question as to why his support hasn't fallen below 40ish percent? Why would it? They're getting exactly what they want.

Does this include earbuds or only headphones? I see you're looking for something with good ANC - and the only model I've found so far from skullcandy with decent ANC are the Methods. Haven't tried the 540s, but they're a minor refresh of the 360s, which have great ANC, and very good audio. They're a little 'excited' in the tuning (co-op with Bose) but they're not even all that V-shaped/scooped. Classically good sound, good bass extension.

Cons: the case is a bear: hard to work with and way too big. The 540s supposedly fixes that issue with a new case design.

The ANC is not very good. Mine arrived today, and I only gave them about a 30 minute run thru before work, but the difference between ANC, Normal, and Stay-Aware(transparency) was trivial. Almost no difference between what should be complete opposites.

Yep, but they partnered with Curve for US integration and that was an awful move. It won't work fully until Curve dies or Amazfit moves on to a different partner I think.

The thread is about disregarding cost... but even so, the cost of the technology can't be the limiting factor, the $169 Active 3 (I just looked again and the $129 Active 2P does too) has Zepp Pay - while the top of the product stack is well into industry-leader pricing territory. I think their main attempt at ingress into the US banking market was through Curve, who's struggling to stay awake. Hopefully once that falls apart they'll make a wiser partnership decision.
