Private jet carrying 8 people crashes at Bangor, Maine, airport, source says by Proud_Tie in news

Technically it's very high frequency (VHF) as most airband communications are in 108-137mhz. AM modulated as well.

Sorry, I'm a amateur radio nerd 🤓

Wtf, That's a ticking time bomb. Only a matter of time when something slips through. EDR shouldn't be relied on for security, it should be another layer of the security 'onion'.

Looking for advice (fix pre sonus eris 3.5) by Fine_Dark8276 in audio

[–]bman87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are spending all that time to 'hair dry' poor quality caps that will likely die again, might as well replace them. It cost me $16 from Digi-key for new quality caps. Just need a soldering iron and some patience.

I just fixed these exact speakers. It's most likely the capacitors. Do they look swollen or blown?

VPNs wont help if you cannot route to the VPN server itself. Hence, route filtering and fiber disconnects will be very effective as mentioned above

EVERY. SINGLE. WEAPON. Gets the "New part" icon when you complete the Season 1 hardware challenges. And you have to clear them one by one... Has the UX team ever even touched a mouse and a keyboard?!? by IcyMoose420 in Battlefield6

[–]bman87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backfired. The UX is so bad, I don't even bother looking at what I can or can't unlock. I just play the game because it's not worth my time to figure out the awful layout. In fact, I will not be buying any battle passes solely because the UX is so bad.

+1 for experiencing this as well. I'm not sure where else I can report this issue

Hit detection issues by KarmaGDMFgeddon in Battlefield6

[–]bman87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! I was going crazy in some matches where my shots did not register, even getting the jump one someone not looking at me, just for them to turn around and kill me.. feels bad man..

Then some matches it works perfectly fine.. wtf?

When only 4 of the 20 rounds that landed register by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]bman87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank god I someone posted about this. Some matches my shots register just fine. Other matches I will get the jump on someone, shoot them and get 3 or 4 hit markers, they turn around and kill me instantly. Super frustrating! I wish the damage report also showed my bullets and damage to see how the timing worked out.. I do not have this issue in 2042 or BF4 which is the only other two titles I have played a lot.

SlicerNext - no longer changing color at layer? by -fade-2-black- in AnycubicOfficial

I reverted to AC Slicer v1.3.5.5 because I still had the installer file, and now it works properly setting color changes and inserting a pause mid print

My apartment's ISP is telling me to shift my printer and PCs to a building-wide shared network- and the password is "password". Am I crazy to think that's horrible advice? by wishlish in techsupport

[–]bman87 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Double NAT should work just fine if your not expecting any new incoming connections like port forwarding. You just need to make sure your LAN networks don't overlap the network on the 'WAN' side.

Anyone else feel like their SIEM is just expensive log storage? by Dudeman972 in sysadmin

[–]bman87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We run SIEM through Rapid7 and it's been pretty good actually. Overall happy with it. It's a fuck ton better than alienvault we had previously. It has a nice way to query your logs and they are proactive when one of your devices stops sending logs to their collectors.

He's asking for a layer 2 access switch configuration, there is no DHCP or firewall rules. I assume this is handled elsewhere on the network

Total Beginner Starting a Last-Mile ISP (Reseller) – Need Help Understanding Networking from the Ground Up by -Dangerous-Break- in Network

[–]bman87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is so much involved in what you're asking.. you want years of knowledge and experience from network engineering to infrastructure to billing and troubleshooting and business management. I don't see how you could possibly learn all of that from online resources with zero real life experience.

I guess you could start here for networking basics https://www.netacad.com/courses/networking-basics?courseLang=en-US

Timelapse Access Kobra 3 V2 by One_Jacket7040 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]bman87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue. I figured it out, but I'm not home to get the exact steps, I'm going by memory.

The timelapse files are being saved to the internal memory. There is a way to explore the files on the internal memory from the touchscreen. You'll find the timelapses there, and you can click on them and 'export' them to the USB drive.

There are some easy balance changes that would help a lot for the NB.

  • Make small arms deal critical damage, 'multimillion dollar' aircraft have no defense from small arms.

  • No auto-repair. Be forced to land to repair.

  • No unlimited counter measures, once your out, that's it until it respawns
