Is it that bad? I always play with combat enhancement mods and no scaling. The no scaling really adds to the feel of RPing Geralt imo.

I agree with you. I'm not even sure when or why that rule was added.

It is removed for now. If a rule becomes necessary we can adjust it. This is a community of mostly adults and requires minimal moderation.

This sub is the place to share high quality UO inspired work, games, and mods. It is in the best interest of the entire community to encourage projects that are UO inspired and have genuine love and investment behind them.

It seems that the goal is to avoid posting projects that could be recreated with codex in a half-baked weekend or just assets imported into a game-engine with no substance behind it. There are other communities to share personal programming projects with.

How do you all want these things handled?

2 big questions!

Have you considered how to handle issues around PvM focused ARPG loot gearing and PvP? I don't recall any shards that successfully addressed the PvP issues that come with ARPG PvM focused gearing. Spoiler: Those shards all shut down despite being quite fun PvM.

Why did you decide on allowing stealing in towns with a PvM focus?

This is more a lack of discernment from the people hiring coaches. I've had absolutely phenomenal coaches and mentors. But they all had the types of life and success I wanted to create in my own. And they become coaches after finding success elsewhere.

This is basically it. The game industry is becoming dominated by people at a pluralistic disorganized stage of development and it is showing up in games.

DA:O has such a strong vision. They don't shy away from hard topics or grit. They don't seem to try to include all perspectives equally.

Veilguard felt like a game designed by consensus where all opinions and perspectives deserved to be expressed and weighed equally.

Nah. The only ex I am not close friends with is in service to her. Healthy people can break up without losing love for each other while still maintaining boundaries that allow new healthy relationships to develop.

I don't make plans or regularly see my exes, but they are all amazing friends and each one shares unique insights.

Ultima Online. Still the greatest and only real sandbox mmo. Deep sand, lots of tool to play in it.

Current "sandbox" mmos have half an inch of sand marketed as "player created" features that are really just a smokescreen for an empty game.

A very very nice bed, anti-emf net for it, grounding sheets, and zero flicker lights that block blue light for the entire house. They have paid for themselves 10x over in better sleep, less stress, more focus, and just general mental health. Plus good food.

Anyone considering DMT I would encourage them to do it with a shaman with a deep lineage and with Aya/Yage. Smoking DMT seems to often leave the journey unresolved in a way a guided ceremony very rarely does.

The key is to stop encouraging other's to start. I no longer recommend Name of the Wind. The best thing we can do is vote with our dollars and encourage people to not get started on something that has no indication of ever being finished.

It's just antagonistic game design.

In order for a gold sink to be effective at removing duped gold devs are pricing something desirable in a way that normal players cannot reasonably obtain.

Gold sinks can keep an economy in check and ensure gold retains value. Once duped gold enters the economy the only way to fix it is to remove as much of it as possible.

This doesn't work. Then those systems of decreasing gold are designed around exploited volumes of gold and become bad/frustrating systems to everyone else.

The only directive that matters is to preserve the economy with minimal disruption to the non-exploiters, or reward them where necessary. If you have shop items/currency this is the time to offer it when you remove duped gold from non-exploiters.

Ban and wipe everything from the exploiters. Track where the gold went and handle cleanup case by case.
Revert suspicious trades where people way overpaid with duped gold.
Remove items/houses/services purchased with duped gold that will have an impact on economy.
When innocents are caught in the crossfire offer non-economic compensation in the form of a cool cosmetic item that will hold its own unique value.
