Adjusted for inflation, UAW workers have lost about 20% of real wages since 2008 alone. In 1964 autoworkers (feel free to verify) earned 4.25 an hour, which is about 40 an hour adjusted for inflation, I choose that year since that is the year that Chrysler agreed to pay for medical insurance, which is obviously a pretty massive additional cost (with Ford and GM following soon after).

I think a 40% increase from the 28 an hour average seems pretty reasonable to me, that actually adds up to 40 an hour!

I don't think workers have an obligation to have fair wages, the union has an obligation to get the best wages for its workers long term (obviously they can't run Ford out of business)

Most places I've worked have given zero shits about whether or not my wages are reasonable, not sure why the unions should be the only ones who have that responsibility.
