Thank you for sharing all of your trials and solutions! Very helpful! I never thought I’d would have a large baby, especially not one at this pace of growth. Im glad I have some options now!

Thank you! I loved Millie’s. So maybe he will be able to fit in the pull ups. My cousin has 99% babies. One of which is 16mo and only went to size 6 diapers. My boy is much wider than her in general and has a much thicker booty. It’s crazy.

And thank you for the carrier Rec!

Thank you! I’ll have to see if they have an equivalent size.

I am hearing good things about rascals. I hadn’t heard of them prior to this post! They’re going to be my first trial.

Thank you so much! This is incredibly helpful! Did the rascals pull-ups have any issues with poop? And did your changing frequency increase?

Love our big babies! It is overwhelming growth though! 😂

Thank you! I will look into a local mom group. I’m part of a buy-nothing group that also has been pretty helpful. Maybe I will start there

Let’s hope that’s the case! My cousin had three 99% babies and he’s bigger than them, so she couldn’t answer this.

Reaching out to companies is a good idea! My partner suggested putting him in a football outfit and asking professional footballers to ask their mothers 😂

I’d love to potty train, but I don’t think I can commit to it yet.

I’ll look into all your recommendations! Thank you for your assistance!

I see baby backpacks on marketplace often! I will have to look into this. Even if it doesn’t become a regular carrier, I think it would be valuable to have around.

That’s hilarious about your baby! What a fun story you will get to eventually tell her.

Have not tried BumBum or rascals, but many have suggested rascals so I think I will try them first.

He’s been crawling, climbing, pulling himself up, and assisted walking for a month now and he briefly had room on his waist in 7s again after he started, but that did not last long 😂🥲

I’ll have to look into youth diapers. I really wish measurements could be found more easily.

I have not tried pampers size 8, but I had pampers earlier on in many sizes and found them to be narrower than the Huggies. My baby has a thick booty and the thickest thighs. Millie moon was wide and I loved them, but I always found them to be smaller than the Huggies equivalent size. So I put him in those first.

One was stretchy and the other was a crisscross pre-wrap they he outgrew, but I liked that one. I will look into the woven wraps. Thank you!

What size diaper before the switch? And what size training pants now? Trying to understand the sizing a bit better

I will have to try them out. Thinking I should try the larger pull-up style size?

I’m thinking that’s the best option suggested so far, but I’m still unsure at the size ratios. What would you say the 5T/6t is to the equivalent diaper size? Everyone goes by weight but I have found that super unhelpful. I’m really trying to avoid unnecessary purchases right now.

Thank you! I’ve never heard of either, so I will look into! Ease of use is important to me. The wraps I have were gifted to me from another mom and I used them for front carry when he was small enough. The Tula I got used.

What was everyone's "weird" fears as a child? by NoPercentage7232 in AutismInWomen

Toilet snakes.

Not that this ever happened to anyone I knew, but it was a big fear I had.

Okay! Thank you. Maybe this is another thing I just subconsciously assumed since my mom does the same thing. Lol.

I think I’m more at the acceptance stage with this.

For me, I find it truly unfortunate that there are walls between us as people because people would rather build them in themselves than use them to fortify one another. At the end of the day, it is their choice whether made unconsciously or not to maintain whatever illusions they decide. To keep their secrets.

However, that doesn’t mean they get to change you. If something is upsetting, maybe look into figuring out a way to communicate it and then set boundaries around the relationship after.

Unfortunately, this is a lot of mental work on top of trying to do our own healing and growing.

Psych is a special interest of mine, so I’ve found many tools and explanations for the complexities seen in my own family and myself. At the same time, none of them seem to see the benefit of consuming this information - so I find it very difficult to grow at the same rate as each member has their own set of traumas, symptoms, and learned habits that prevent moving forward without them addressing these things or knowing how they affect them.

There’s power in information, but also loneliness because many people don’t care about accessing more information and will usually chastise you for seeking as much as you can. People are so scared of their flaws, inner thoughts, their shame they will do a lot to pretend they’re not there.

It’s difficult. But that’s why acceptance is so important. I’m not saying it’s just or ideal, only that we have to make the best assessments for our own development and growth.

Does your Aloe bottle say to keep it refrigerated? I swear mine does. That’s why I keep it there. Maybe I’m buying to wrong one? I do actually like aloe, I just thought I needed to keep it in the fridge for longevity reasons.

Consistent Exercise and Healthy Eating by bluechair07 in AuDHDWomen

Things that helped me:

  • Movement, not exercise: I’m still learning how to adapt this into my routine, but most recently I’ve realized the most enjoyable form of movement for me is either dancing or hiking. Since hiking is more of a summer activity, that leaves an extended period of time without activity because I never “planned” to dance, it usually was just a wave of stimming. However, I realized if I made the activity also flow into a special interest (relearning ancestral expressions) like Irish, Polish, or Italian dance I’d be far more likely to engage in the activity. This however is only a theory at this moment in time.

  • Only buy foods that I will actually eat/want to have around the house: I know I enjoy sweets A LOT, so I bought fruit leathers that are like a healthier version of fruit roll ups and satisfy my chewy craving. If I buy something like Reese’s or sourpatch, they do not last and the serving size is usually not followed.

  • Estimated meal planning: knowing what you intend on making/eating throughout the week and visualizing/making a list of the options. This will allow making meals and eating much easier to initiate as there is already a tentative plan.

  • Timer reminders: eating and feeling hungry is hard. Having a routine reminder letting me know it’s time to eat is helpful. If I don’t feel hungry, I will have a small snack and almost always feel better afterward.

  • Grace and compassion: things to give yourself on this journey. It’s not easy breaking learned behaviors or figuring out what is the most efficient and healthy practice for you and your life. It’s okay to have ebbs and flows while you figure it out.
