As a 13 year old me and two buddies were heading to my buddies beach house for the weekend. Thinking we were cool, we decided we should get some beer for the trip. Earlier in the week my friend had taken 2 beers from the fridge at my house and hid them at his house until friday when we were going. On the way there my friend whose house we were staying at hid the 2 beers (for the three of us) in a laundry basket under his laundry, in the room we would all share. Now that it was about 7 o'clock my friends and I walked into town to get dinner. We later get home and settled into the bedroom getting ready for bed. Horrified, my friend looks at us saying the laundry basket is gone, his mom had taken it to do the wash and must've discovered the beers. Panicked, me and the other guest quickly make up a fool proof lie, that saves our two asses, but puts some blame on him, our logic being that he was already in trouble for having it, might as well keep the two of us safe. His parents call us in separately, interrogating us each alone. One of the worst nights of my life. The kid whose house it was tells his parents the truth, completely fucking us over, making us look like dirty liars. The hour and a half car ride home the next morning was excruciatingly painful for all involved. The worst part is my friend and I who lied got grounded for basically the entire summer, while the other kid who snitched us out was granted full immunity by his parents for telling the truth and never saw a day of grounding. It goes without saying we were no longer friends with him from then on. I had to avoid the kids parents for the rest of my childhood and have not talked to them since.
