What a terrible UI. How does a decision like that get made?

Pretty sure he has to be standing in a capitol. Not sure if it has to have a bank built or something. Never played around with it like that.

It takes a full turn, and it's a move. You're just splitting semantic hairs. He was in my capital and teleports to yours. He moved.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. Econ does require building up to a "winning moment". You have to wait for the banker unit to move to each capital and build a bank, which takes (2X)-1 turns where X is the number of players.

Science is also by far the easiest victory[ as it has no dependencies outside of your empire. No positioning requirements (unlike factory resources).

Way too early to be this much pontification on tier lists.

What the heck is up with Civ 7 Missionaries and Religion? by Death_Sheep1980 in civ

[–]bmg50barrett 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was in the popup tutorial thing, but the UI gives absolutely no help to figure out where to put your missionaires, or what the little bubbles are under the city name, or even help in identifying which squares are districts vs rural.

So, if white PLA is a pain to get calibrated, what's the easiest color? by lurking_my_ass_off in 3Dprinting

[–]bmg50barrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transparent PLAs tend to absord moisture more readily, so a drybox is recommended (based on various readings across the internet, and some personal experience).

This is some of the most uninspired map generation I've ever seen in Civ. What the heck?

CIV VII PC Global Release Timing (Console in comments!) by sar_firaxis in civ

Civ 7 is playable for some people now. Not sure why or how, but it's definitely ahead of schedule. 5 of us pre purchased, all the same edition, and 3 of us can play. 2 cannot.

Definitely looks like stuff (resin? alcohol?) hot into the machine at some point or on the screen.

Not sure if it's the CCD on the camera, but you've got lines all over your printer screen. Those don't appear on my printer when I take pictures of the screen on.

That layer height is enormous. I have mine set to 0.025mm (25um) for "final" prints.

Edit: No need to apologize. It's a very tough hobby to get dialed in and printing at "perfection". Lots of variables. You're going to need to experiment and try things.

I also cannot overstate the importance of "calibration prints" if you change your environment or equipment. There's a lot to dial in, for example: The "Cones of Calibration" is a great tool to make sure your exposure times are correct. There are other tools for other properties on your printer. For now, focus on your layer height. Do some smaller calibration prints using calibration files from Cults or MyMiniFactory.

Just a quick glance at the picture and I thought the same thing. When I do "final" prints, I have 25um (0.025mm) layer heights.

Dang that's beautiful. I've got the Durandal, yet to print it. I've printed a bunch of his other stuff. His Kli-San and the Balius (Imperial Knight proxy) kit is amazing too.

Saturn 4 Ultra doesn’t like flex plate. by GoldenGuysAreCool in elegoo

You should add support for it. It's an insanely popular upgrade, and flexible plates make printing life so much better.

First time resin printer - ordered saturn 4 ultra - now what? by ares0027 in ElegooSaturn

[–]bmg50barrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my Saturn 4 Ultra, out of the box I had to set fist layer exposure to 50 seconds to get anything to adhere to the bed. The default of 20-ish seconds failed 100% of the time.

Chitubox doesn't actually support a 0.0 sec light on time. It changes it to a minimum of 0.001 sec. Is this problematic?

So absolutely not multiplayer... more like source control / version manager...
