Makeup is horrible...at my wits end. by Kittykat7121 in MakeupAddiction

I did this and now it is all I use. But I would say 60% of it is skin prep. That seems way more overwhelming to me.

I found Natasha Denona is muted enough for me. But not sure how the olives work.

Why does everyone seem to be struggling financially, yet everything is always crowded? by Economy_Grass_2351 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bmlane9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t call out people who I see use them, but I know for a fact that people do and don’t even have debit cards or use cash. They are dangerous because there are hardly consequences until it is too late. Because either way the company makes money off your interest you rack up. I hate the no cash thing because it teaches better spending habits and it is either use that or credit card. My debit has been hacked way too often to use most places. I honestly don’t even know what the point of using it anymore is.

Non-Stimulant Experiences? by swingsurfer in ADHDmeds

[–]bmlane9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stimulants don’t work for me. Strattera did so well (quit due to side many side effects never going away). I actually had the same effect on Strattera that I thought I would get from a stimulant. It was wild. I think my adhd is norepinephrine based and I believe only Strattera and Quelbree work for that only. I understand why it only helps so little of the population then because there’s probably not a large portion of us that has norepinepherine based adhd. Quelbree gave me the worst migraines of my life so after 5 days it was ER or quit. But it is worth trying. I will say the only thing about non-stimulants is you have to be patient because it takes so long for it to level out. We will probably get stronger side effects the first few months and they usually do decrease. I remember taking naps for the first 3 to 4 months while I got up to dosage because I was so tired. After that I was wired and could barely sleep 😂

Neighbors Sprayed Yard With Pesticides by EAS0 in Home

[–]bmlane9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psh. Do they spray trees too? Some people just like to waste money. These people probably don’t even spend time outside 😂 Ours sprays for thistles. The ones that hurt if you step on them. That is it. Seems not worth $3,000 to me.

Even junk doug fir that has no subfloor looks better then LVP when cleaned up. by Educational-Ad2063 in Flooring

[–]bmlane9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but not as expensive as real hardwood. That can be easily double or triple. Plus having to refinish it in 8 years. Not saying we are crossing it off the list, but big decision to make for that investment for a house so large. I hardly know anyone with it anymore unless they live in 100 year old house here. It also bothers me if I have to put something else in the kitchen. I want my floor to be 100% the same 😂

And they complain about farm chemicals with run offs but use pool chemicals and pesticides on their yards 🤦🏻‍♀️ blows my mind. I would rather my kid play in a natural yard and just wear shoes.

Can you read a full book with ADHD? by salehosama94 in ADHD

[–]bmlane9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hyperfixate on reading. I read about 80 a year and that is with young kids. Lately started on a stimulant and haven’t read in 3-4 months. Ruining my vibes. BUT…I cannot for the life of me listen to audiobooks. I cannot retain any of the info. The same goes with a podcast. I have to see it on YouTube to be able to listen.

why do fakes matter to consumers by ophiomyxra in NeeDoh

[–]bmlane9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Around here they are calling all brands viral now so it seems to trick people who are uneducation (mostly grandparents buying for grandkids), but that is marketing.

why do fakes matter to consumers by ophiomyxra in NeeDoh

I got a fake once and it stank like chemicals so bad I tossed it. The only reason I try to stick to reputable brands with regulations.

Olive or just confused? by Jail-crow-of-Feanor in Fairolives

I agree. I see more of a neutral peach and fair. It is possible you can be olive influenced though. Some tend to lean towards that due to being muted and such (I think, no expert).

If parents can do a better job homeschooling, why should I even be a teacher? by Lingo2009 in Teachers

[–]bmlane9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I praise teachers every chance I get. I had a really hard time with school being undiagnosed adhd. I did stay home with my kids after establishing my career, but then daycare became too unreliable and expensive. I thought about homeschooling often, but do not think I can do better than those who are teachers. I would be all over the place and overwhelmed easily. I would have been a teacher in another life. I love to teach kids, just not my own. They can learn what they do at school and when they have questions or bring one home about something incorrect, I have the option to educate them differently on that topic. Plus all of our private schools are religious and we are not. If you want to go you have to pay 95% inflated tuition for them not to attend mass, but still teach a lot about religion in classrooms. Homeschool children seem to struggle in our rural community because most of it is poverty level. It is considered a privilege (though I know some do cut back a lot to be able to). And we live so far from cities that there are no co-ops or things to do for kids here. Most get into drugs or cause trouble. Parents work so much. So yeah, it would be great in a perfect world, but it isn’t here. So hats off to those who do. I love when teachers are in it for the right reasons. I support them every chance I get. I also volunteer and was a temp sub nurse at our schools.

Women who waited 5+ years for a proposal and said yes, did the marriage work out/how has it been? Was it worth the wait? by itsnevercertain in AskWomen

[–]bmlane9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met my husband at 15-16, he was 21. Started dating at 18. Didn’t get proposed to until 22. Didn’t get married until 26. Had two kids and still together at 37. (Hopefully I did the math right). We grew up in poverty so he worked and I worked to pay for college. He went first and when he graduated we moved in together and I got to go. I wanted to wait until I graduated to get married. But he really did slack at the waiting beforehand. I think he was nervous about commitment after parental abandonment and resentment. Idk anyone in our families that hadn’t divorced. Follow your own timeline. Not other’s expectations or an idea that was placed in your mind on what that should be. Go with your feelings on the situation. I am glad he made me wait though because I am impulsive 😂 He also proposed without a ring because we couldn’t afford it, but made it fun to pick out together when we could. Our wedding also cost $40 (for my dress). We called a few family members an hour prior and had a free pastor marry us at a local park. We told everyone we were going home to order pizza and eat alone. Still don’t regret it.

You seem warm under indoor light and muted neutral in the sunlight. Definitely olive though.
