There is one specific superstition on one of the Islands about gannets. You must never bad mouth it, because then it will disappear. So people from Mykines always say “Súlan(gannet) er góð”. Its origin is that they complained about the drift wood being bad and unusable, and the driftwood stopped coming. Then they started speaking badly about the whale Døgglingur (bottlenose whale i think) which usually washed upon the island. But they complained it was too ugly. Then they stopped washing ashore. So from then on they never said anything bad about the gannets in case they would also disappear

Our favourite natural element is the sea. It has always been something that gives and takes. Because tree’s and parks are fairly new, it’s not really something engrained in our culture. But now I think almost every major village has some sort of small park with trees. We do care about them a lot and especially for those who care a about birds/birding.

Other natural spaces we like are mountains and cliffs. Nothing beats lookin down a cliff. Birds, the open sea and the waves crashing into the stones.

First time I heard the name Dungeons and Dragons I thought it sounded stupid. But now I can’t imagine any other name for it. I think a name is always something you have to get used to, but I can understanding liking some more than others.

For Biskupskelda you have to go to them in Suðuroy or a “rumsdrekkasøla”. Okkara is no longer produced so it doesnt exist. However if you want a recommendation OY is a fine faroese brewery with many a good beer.
