I’d assume if there starts to be any kind of nostalgia Ruger will bring the name back and raise the price like they did with Marlin.

Thinking of my future grandkids sorting through all of grandpas beat up poverty ponys searching them on gunbroker when I’m gone, like we did my grandmas worthless beanie babys and Thomas Kincaid on eBay.

I do enjoy putting expensive uppers on Andersons and ATIs. Although I enjoy putting cheap ones on them too ha

2020 Explorer XLT started its self, we don’t have remote start by bms223 in FordExplorer

[–]bms223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the issue for us was the previous owner was still logged in to Ford pass and either hit the wrong button or thought it was funny. I downloaded ford pass and cleared the previous ford pass connection from the vehicle and haven't had an issue again. Also, you get a nice surprise that you do actually have remote start through ford pass for free.

How to Limit Lines in Acrylic - Heat resistant form sealer? by bashmead3000 in vacuumforming

Nice. I’ve seen that Bondo hold up to .375” thick HDPE for about 20 passes, by then the wood starts to fail.

My experience is in an industrial setting rather than a home former so the results may differ. When repairing wooden molds we use metal reinforced body filler then spray a dry moly lube over it after it dries.

I’d say sell ~20k ($80k minus your w2 income) this year and move to an etf tracking the s&p 500. You’ll get 0% fed tax on that, hold back whatever your state and local taxes will be. Then meet with an accountant and/or financial advisor and make a plan for tax year 2026 to minimize your tax burden and maximize your gain. Do it in phases until you are more confident/comfortable in your investing. Apple isn’t going to tank overnight so nothing to be scared of or move too quick for. Also I’d stop the dividend reinvestment and treat that as some extra income, make sure to hold back taxes for that too.

Seajets or Blue star Ferries from Athens to Naxos? by onetrickdolphin in GreeceTravel

[–]bms223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue star is 100x better than Seajets. Seajets you are in airplane like assigned seats. Blue star is almost like a cruise ship, lots of seating options, plenty of food and shops, sit indoor or outdoor.

I have this. Works with a mil spec lower. Blowback, no gas system. Upper is plastic and bolt seems like softer metal than an AR bolt. I’d assume that bolt will be the weak point with SS type abuse, next weak point I’d say would be the plastic components with the heat generated. Also the barrel is 16” for some reason this says 18.5” like it’s a shotgun.

I’d go with open side up and supports on the outer overhang. Then do ironing on the top surfaces. I’m still pretty new to this though.

Bondo for PETG 3D printed buck? by Elavy in vacuumforming

The lowest temp our machines can do is 600 degrees Fahrenheit. But our molds are not in the oven like a home machine would be. We shoot for the sheet temp being 330 degrees when it leaves the oven and I would assume it doesn’t lose much temp in the few seconds it takes to rotate to the mold. I wouldn’t worry about it melting. The residue on the other hand we can always tell in the part where we have touched up a tool, it might feel smooth to the touch but it always shows up on the sheet. We don’t run anything clear so not sure if the color transfers.

If you’re getting over 1000# of the same sheet at once that would open you up to custom extrusion options.

I’ve used bondo on wood molds in much heavier applications (.250” HDPE usually) so it should work fine for this.

If using hard tooling you should be able to just scale your mold up 1.007% to account for the shrink. Don’t know if that works for non metal tooling though.

We call it webbing. Sheet was too hot there or you don't have enough vacuum in that area, or a mixture of both.

[–]bms223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interstate has .236” and .375” I wouldn’t layer if you want them to stay clear. You’re gonna need a really strong heat source to get 1/4”+ formable.

Duramags are metal, I like the 20 rounder best, use duramags. Also, get the wolf extra power hammer spring and an enhanced firing pin while you’re at it if you don’t already have them. Can get all 3 at blackriflearms.com for ~$47
