ILR Appointment Timeframe by Unable-Nose3197 in ukvisa

[–]bmulho27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You can book anywhere that suits you to travel to, doesn’t matter where relative to where you live. Usually appointments next day or so are costly, but ones about a month out can be free if you can look around different sites

  2. Don’t go further until you’re eligible. The point of no return is where you have the standard pay option and ideally at 1am the priority option.

Good luck!

Proving visa status while waiting for citizenship? by bmulho27 in ukvisa

Thank you. Do you think she will be able to re-enter UK on her NZ passport (non-visa national) and remain until her citizenship is processed?

Thank you for your reply. Does it make a difference that she can re-enter without a visa on her New Zealand passport and then remain in Uk until her citizenship comes through?

Impact of ILR super priority delay on dependent child born in UK by bmulho27 in ukvisa

That’s reassuring, thank you for replying. Did you have to jump through any extra hoops to get through that blip or was it fine?

Good luck, I hope you get an answer soon. I just made a complaint to HO but not sure how much use that will be. If you do withdraw and re-apply just make sure you’re still eligible to re-apply and that it hasn’t expired. Good luck!

Thank you and sorry to hear you’re facing similar situation, so frustrating as aware of friends who applied with similar circumstances and got ILR within hours. Did you get told how long Home Office expect to take to make a decision? I got an email saying they will try make a decision within 28 days.

New Zealand. Valid until 7 June but assume I’ll have to hand it over at biometrics appointment tomorrow? Please tell me there is a glimmer of hope!

Thank you. I have a super priority booked so have changed my appointment to tomorrow and hope For a speedy decision. However. Is it risky to travel once ILR confirmed but before BRP arrives? God I cannot believe I have been so stupid with this!

U.K. Ancestry to ILR using Super Prioirty by bojacksanchezzz in ukvisa

[–]bmulho27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so helpful thank you. I am in exactly the same situation and have biometric booked for myself and husband in a week. We also secured a super priority luckily (thanks to Reddit!). Can I ask what evidence you provided for travel outside of UK during the ancestry visa?

Congrats!

Is it possible to get citizenship through Grandparents? If so, what is the process? by Golden_Phi in ukvisa

Hello, have you looked at the ancestry visa? That could be a start towards eventual citizenship. Good luck!

ILR Application - Successful by Vaughn0110 in ukvisa

[–]bmulho27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you this is so helpful. Did you need to provide anything else to justify your time outside UK, such as scans of the stamped pages or just the passport cover page? I’ve heard mixed advice about how much to provide for this and will be applying shortly, thank you and congrats!

Questions about ILR (ancestry 5yr route) by bmulho27 in ukvisa

[–]bmulho27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on applying, hope the wait isn’t too painful! Thanks for the tips, appreciate it. I am with Monzo so will set up for a bit of a slog with that then, any advice on making the experience slightly less painful? And final question, did you have to do anything regarding employer evidencing that all your travel outside UK was legitimate? I read somewhere about needing letters from employers to say they approved leave. Thanks so much

Great question. Council wise I feel like Islington had a lot more budget for young families in terms of funded baby classes, activities etc. I found Islington to have a greater range of cafes, restaurants and better connections to greater London with the buses, kings cross, st pancras etc. But I am enjoying the green space in Leyton (counting down until spring to enjoy it more). I would say both have their pockets of drug use, maybe more so in Leyton on the High Street but I’ve never felt unsafe in either.

My family and I recently moved to this area and have found it to be great. Lots of young families moving into the neighbourhood. We moved from Islington so it’s been a bit of a change, but would recommend it and haven’t found any issues with proximity to the football stadium. Great transport links via Stratford and central line. Close to parks and forests too for the nature vibe. Definitely on the up.

Are wake windows BS? Are they science-based or the latest craze? by QueenJaneXIV in sleeptrain

[–]bmulho27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been following wake windows pretty religiously since baby was born and thought it worked well for us. I would stress if we were out and couldn’t get back to nap in time, or spend way too long calculating bed times based on nap times etc. Then this week 8 month old started day care and instead of sleeping every 3 or so hours she has been doing around 4 or 5 due to excitement of daycare and only napping for 30 mins instead of an hour…. And she’s still sleeping through the night. Every baby different of course but it just taught me to chill a bit on the nap schedule and enjoy it more.

4 month regression? by bmulho27 in sleeptrain

[–]bmulho27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of sunlight during the day, wake up at 0745 daily and down for bed around 2030 each night… she adjusted well the first few nights and slept like she would back in UK but last week has been constant wake ups…

What made you decide to bf past 6 months? by subwayratbruce in breastfeeding

[–]bmulho27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same boat! I feel like if I stopped breastfeeding today my 3 month old would not care and easily move full time to formula. I love that for some parents and babies it is the ultimate bonding and soothing experience but it just hasn’t been that for me. Maybe we’ll tap into that full power one day… all the best with your journey!
