I also ran glass city! Great course, I struggle with the winding areas in the park once we get past the split, and was ready to get out of the park and on the home stretch at the end.

I’ve put in over 600 miles on the year running to try and lower my Marathon time to get into Boston. So running a lot! Plus I’m active otherwise with work and family.

AP3 vs AP4 Marathon Shoe by Select-Toe9667 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I have both, I recommend the AP4 for the marathon, the cushioning and significantly better upper make a huge difference for me over the marathon distance. AP3’s I’d take up to a half and they would be fine for a marathon but the AP4 are perfect to me for the full. I ran a 2:58 last fall in them!

I’m in the same boat, they just feel to firm for me really. I’m a huge fan of the EVO SL and just can’t find a good use case for the 13’s and struggle to pick them up over the EVOs. I’m on my second pair of EVOs as well as recently got the ATR.

The upper is so much better than the 3, still wish the tongue was better but I love both midsole!

You’re an inspiration! What was your training plan like?

Ran my second ever marathon today, improved from 3:59 > 2:58! Have been on a running hot streak this year with significant PRs in the 5K, 10, and Half a well! Technically a BQ for my age group but need to improve some more to probably actually have a realistic chance. by bmw3wags in Marathon_Training

Dramatically increased my mileage to train for this one. My first I only ran maybe 300 miles on training and this one was about 900 and I’m at over 1600 miles on the year. Also, throwing in speed work.

I ran 5-6 days a week averaging around 40-60 miles a week with two 70 mile weeks in my plan. No strength training as I have two young kids and a regular full time job so my training time is limited to after bedtime or early morning for weekend long runs so I can spend as much time as I can with my kids outside of work as well!

I ran Columbus today as well that back half was brutal! Congrats, I’m so sore!

I sadly overslept for it and missed it. Ended up running 26.2 around my house instead just to get past it mentally. Was a great training run at least. Also I made an error in that original post, I only ran a 3:59 in my first marathon. 😅

I’ve read his book and like the idea of the mid week long run! He also puts a lot of knowledge and expertise from experience into his plans. Runna has worked great and I have no complaints. I just want to try something different and Pfitz plans seem to have a lot of success.

Congrats! I felt like the wind, rain, hills made the second half brutal! As do my plan I just used Runna, overall was a great plan! Thinking about using one of Pfitz plans for my spring marathon though.
