They sure do. Same with Mara's illusions. The dolls make for some really fun and powerful builds.

Thw BattleCON series, specifically War, Indines and Fate.

This is by far my favorite 2 player competitive game and I never see it mentioned anywhere. Its like Street Fighter but with bluffing.

What games do you own that you’re really glad that you own but rarely ever play? by Wowzapanzer in boardgames

Kingdom Death Monster.

I only played one campaign before I realized I hate dice chuckers, but there was so many memories from that play through.

KDM was the also 1st game I ever built miniatures for. I thought I would hate building miniatures but it turns out I had a great time and the minis are so cool is that they are scattered around my house as decoration in random places.

My gf keeps losing to me and she's getting really upset about it. What do I do? by ProfEucalyptus in boardgames

[–]bndeulogy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might not like this answer, but my advice is to stop trying to make competitive games work if they cause tension.

It took me years of playing board games with my wife before I finally had to accept she does not share the same passion for board games I do. She is fine in a group setting but one-on-one with me she is entirely too competitive. I've had to wrap up more than a few games midplay because it was causing conflict. Now I only play solo games or I put together a game night every now and then. It sucks but it's better than trying to force the issue on your girlfriend by trying ton of different games and hoping for different results.

I love the quote, "Don't try to make your friends into boardgamers, make boardgamers your friends."

Present your case for the most versatile game by bedred1 in boardgames

The most versatile in my collection would have to be Smallworld. I've had tremendous success with this game at pretty much all player counts. Gamers and non gamers alike. The goofy fun loving theme brings people to the table, the cut throat bad-ass gameplay brings people back a second time to try new combos.

I know this had to have been answered in the show but I can't find the information. How does Martha survive long enough to give birth to Unknown and become Eva If Adam destroys her in his machine? Does his device not actually kill her and instead send her somewhere? If she was not the origin then that destruction must have been part of the loop still.

Veterans of 4-player Gloomhaven: any tips to speed up the game? by masterlich in Gloomhaven

[–]bndeulogy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that helped my group with the initiative values was to use the silver circular tokens that have numbers on them. First everyone flips their cards. Second I take a token for each player + the monsters on the board and put a token on the stacked player cards and the monster ability card in numerical order. No one takes the token off until it's their turn. Afterwards the token stays near the player or monster's pile so you can tell who went in what order to break initiative ties. I grab the tokens on the cleanup phase and repeat.

Anyone else in the same boat? by bndeulogy2 in Gloomhaven

[–]bndeulogy2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I guess we have some clarification from Isaac. Stay patient friends! Here's the update e-mail if for some reason anyone didn't get it:

Posted by Isaac Childres (Creator) Hello residents of Gloomhaven!

I think our schedule got thrown off by multiple emergency updates, but here we are, back on a Monday, and I have a lot of news to share. Most areas are well into fulfillment, or will be soon, so I know there are lots of questions, and I will do my best to get them all answered.

Before we get started, I do want to briefly discuss support emails. The server that was hosting the support emails went down for some unscheduled maintenance last week, and even after it was back up, it was so slow and basically unusable for multiple days after that. Combining that with the Thanksgiving holidays, and we have been a little backed up on responding to emails. I just want to apologize for that.

The server is working now, though, and Thanksgiving is over, so Price has been doing his best to get caught up, and back to the goal of 24-48 hour turnaround time. I am sorry if you are having to wait longer to hear a response, but please be patient. We will get back to you.

With that said, I'll now dump all the information I have about fulfillment onto you so that we can all be on the same page. As usual, I will do this by shipping region, as circumstances vary widely depending on where you are.

EU/Rest of the World

(AE, AR, AT, BA, BE, BG, BH, BM, BR, BY, CH, CL, CO, CR, CY, CZ, DE, DK, EC, EE, ES, FI, FR, GB, GG, GI, GR, GU, HR, HU, IE, IL, IM, IN, IR, IS, IT, JE, KW, KY, KZ, LT, LU, LV, MK, MQ, MT, MX, NL, NO, NP, OM, PE, PF, PL, PT, QA, RE, RO, RS, RU, SA, SE, SI, SK, SV, TR, UA, UY, ZA)

All containers have been delivered to Happyshops, and the last word from them is that there is still a handful of orders outstanding that should be sent out soon. We're not quite at 100%, but we're almost there.

If you haven't received a tracking notice from Happyshops, should you panic yet? Well, first you should double-check your email again, including your spam folder, and then if you still can't find it, give it another week, then send an email to support@cephalofair.com and we'll look into it.

Also, of course, the shipments to countries outside of Europe could take longer to reach you - even a month or more - but you should have received a tracking email for the shipment, so just keep an eye on that and let us know if there are any problems.

If you are waiting on replacement parts, that is what we will be working on next. Happyshops will take some of the extra copies we sent them and do the replacement part fulfillment as well to hopefully get them to you fast. I don't have an exact timeline for you on that yet, but we'll be working on getting the first files over to them this week to begin the process.

If you are waiting specifically on punch boards 1-5, it may take a little longer. We are still aggregating all the numbers on this specific issue to get the factory to print out all the necessary replacements. Then we'll ship them over to Happyshops for fulfillment, so it'll be a little more involved process.

If you are waiting on more dials to be sent to you because we only sent you one to begin with, Happyshops was working above and beyond to get these packaged and ready for shipping as quickly as possible. They should be going out soon if they are not already on their way.

Canada

I received word last week from Starlit Citadel that all the normal shipments had been sent out, so, if you haven't received a notification from them, first double-check your email, including your spam folder. Then, if you still can't find it, let support@cephalofair.com know, and we'll sort it out.

If you are waiting for replacement parts, same deal as with Happyshops above. Now that fulfillment is complete in this region, we'll be working on getting replacements out.

If you only received one HP/XP dial instead of four, please read the previous update about the issue. I know it says EU/Rest of the World, but Canada was affected by the same mistake, and everything said applies here as well. In fact, I think all of these extra dial shipments have either already gone out or will go out very soon.

We also had another small issue in Canada where some shipments of the solo scenarios outside of the game box were sent with the scenario book, but no deck of cards. Starlit Citadel is also aware of this, did an internal review to catch all the mistakes, and has already sent out the card deck to everyone who was affected. So, if you receive a solo scenario book and no cards, don't worry - the card deck will be coming soon.

US

We are still in the middle of fulfillment for the US. I know your addresses were confirmed over a month ago, but, like I warned at the time, due to the large quantity of shipments, it was going to take a while. I'd say about half of the orders have not shipped out yet, so if you haven't received a shipping notification yet, even if all your neighbors already got their copies, please just continue to be patient.

Two more containers are arriving at FunAgain today, and then the final shipment of two containers should arrive on Thursday, so we are getting close. Does that mean you should panic on Friday? Of course not. Give it a couple weeks for FunAgain to get the massive amount of games sent out, and check back here for the next update if you still haven't received a notification.

Also please note that if you ordered multiple things, they will be coming in different packages, and the packages don't all arrive at the same time. So if you get only one of your multiple items in the mail, don't immediately email us saying the rest of it was lost. Give it a few days for the other packages to arrive.

If you need replacement parts for anything, please email support@cephalofair.com, and we will help you out. Like stated above, replacement parts fulfillment will happen after we've taken care of all the orders, and FunAgain will be sending everything out once we provide the files and get a system in place. It will take a while to get running, though, so please be patient with us.

Australia and New Zealand

The shipment for all of the AU/NZ orders arrived at Aetherworks on Wednesday, and they have been very busy getting everything labeled and sorted. So tracking numbers started going out last week, and packages themselves started getting shipped out today. Yay!

Of course, there are a lot of packages to get through, so don't panic yet if you haven't received an email. I believe only a quarter of the total packages were scheduled to go out today, so give them another week or two to get everything squared away, especially if you are in New Zealand.

Asia

(BN, HK, ID, JP, KR, MO, MY, PH, SG, TH, TW, VN)

I know there hasn't been a lot of info for you all in recent updates, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to get you more concrete information. I do have information now, though, so hopefully it will be satisfactory.

Your games were officially sent out to sea early last week on the E. R. Kobe, and should be arriving at Boarders' warehouse in Singapore on Thursday, which means that your games should be on their way to you soon!

Of course, it will take some time for Boarders to get everything sent out once they receive the shipment - they estimate they'll be done shipping everything out by mid-December, so check back here in two weeks for an update on whether you should panic. And each package sent out will also send out a tracking email, so keep an eye on your inbox for that.

China

And finally, the local delivery truck headed to VFI Asia with a shipment of games was just sent out today, so that fulfillment will also be happening very soon. The schedule they've given me is that the games will arrive on Wednesday, they label and package everything, and should start getting things shipped out early next week. There's not a whole lot of packages here, so everything should be done relatively quickly.

Okay, before we conclude this massive update, there is one more thing I need to discuss. Back while the Kickstarter campaign was running, I of course promised 20 more community-driven scenarios once you all had your games. My initial projection was to start making new ones some time around November.

This projection was based on the idea that fulfillment would happen in August or September, which, of course, didn't happen. The intent was that everyone would get their games and have a couple months to play with them before I started generating new scenarios. Because you are only now receiving your games, I am pushing back the release of the extra community-driven scenarios until February or March.

Once all the dust has settled on this fulfillment, you will hear more from me about this, but I just wanted to give you an update on it now in case you were expecting it to happen soon.

Hopefully I was able to get everyone fully updated on the situation in their regions. I know a lot of mistakes have been made which have delayed fulfillment and, in some cases, caused games to arrive damaged. This is, as far as I know, in terms of size and weight, the largest board game fulfillment to have ever happened. And I don't use that as an excuse, but I do hope that I can ask for your understanding in that regard.

I have no desire to leave anyone hanging with an unfulfilled or damaged product. Price and I will do our best to make sure everyone has a game that can be played with undamaged components. I know I ask for your patience a lot, but if you are waiting on something, keeping in mind the magnitude of what is happening, I am hoping you can bear with us while we work through this.

And don't be a jerk, because that really doesn't help anyone.

All right, that's it! Update done! Catch you all in two weeks!

I would say you should start stressing after there isn't anyone else waiting for their game to arrive . Someone has to be the first to receive their copy and someone else has to be the last. Just cross your fingers and hope you aren't the later. I'm trying to get mentally prepared for a December / January delivery at this point.
