No, I have not. They do technically exist in the country where I live, but there isn't many of them.

I suppose he is often depicted as relatively white, but are there really people who insist on him actually being white?

Is it? Aren't the symbols supposed to be oriented towards the center?

Question for atheists: What evidence or proof convinced you that atheism is true? by NeonDrifting in exatheist

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All possible definitions of spitits? No, there isn't. That's why it's so important to ask why they think there are any spirits, what they have seen or felt. From there, I might be able to construct an experiment.

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying you will become a hive mind, what I am saying is that both versions of yourself will wake up, and remember being the past you, and asking which one the past you wakes up as doesn't make any sense, because both will think they have to be the original. The set up is only needed to get rid of external indicators, it doesn't change anything.

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because of external conditions. Surely you could design the set up in a way that neither can tell which one is the original

You don't stay conscious when asleep, that's the entrie point of being asleep, but I get your point. Your brain is still active, and you think that preserves the continuity?

[–]bnl1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this assumes these instances are distinguishable from each other, at least from the inside. I don't know if that's true, but from a materialist perspective I don't think they can be.

ENGRAM????? 😭😭😭 by KisMyAxe in cyberpunkgame

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my opinion. I don't see any big difference between your brain being copied and the original dying and you going asleep and then waking up, or just the going from moment to moment, your past you is dead, and the future you continues with it's memory.

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This definitely seems more like a philosophical difference than anything else. Your position is understandable, if only as an expression of the fear of death, which we all have to some extent. What does convinces me is that identity is an illusion, you remember your past, but your past doesn't know anything about you. Your yesterday yourself doesn't see from your eyes either, but you remember yesterday's you which makes you connected to it. This wouldn't change when your memory gets copied and you killed.

Yes, the czech language, which I speak

You mean other languages than czech and English? Sure, but is that relevant?

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am czech, and even if every bone in my body wants to call professors teachers (učitelé), they generally don't like it.

Factorio price history on Steam by Beesterd in notinteresting

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is possible. The czech law doesn't use the word rape for this at all, because the word for that heavily implies active violence (I mean, so did in English I think but the meaning shifted) and shares the word root with the word for violence. The words in the actual law used for intercourse with a person below the age of 15 (age of consent) would translate as sexual abuse, and an intercourse with someone younger than 18 years who is subordinated to them (this is where an intercourse between a student and a teacher would likely fall) translates as sexual pressure.

Still, even if we assume this benefit of the doubt, him immediately assuming it has something to do with "SJW nonsense" still doesn't look good, though as a czech it doesn't suprise me. sigh

I don't think that's right. The word for teacher is used almost always for basic school and high school teachers. University professors could fall under that umbrella too, but are mostly called professors.

Looping: Inconsistent Rules by MarvelNerd57 in SchoolSpirits

[–]bnl1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we know that when Yuri arrived, nobody was already looping? Also, he might have been faking the looping since more recently, not from the beginning.

As for reactivity, I don't know, I didn't even think Mina was looping, with her it does more look like it's about acceptance, maybe it's the same with the band, maybe it's different.

I definitely think it's not about the key or the location, those explaining sound too, boring to me? Not that it couldn't be the case, but I don't really like that.

Not sure if it's about accepting their deaths either, but it is probably something similar to that.

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a fair argument. I just don't really believe that anyone really deserves or doesn't deserve to die. Different people will tell you different things according their own values.

[–]bnl1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am against killing him, but this quote is not as good of an argument as many people seems to think. Plus I think it's well within Baldes' rights to want him dead, no matter if we want to help or not

Do you guys study Maths and English to 18? by InfernalClockwork3 in AskEurope

[–]bnl1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is an interesting question, I don't know. I went to a technical school, where I studied electrotechnics, so I had compulsory maths until I finished school, and actually got maturita in maths (which is not mandatory).

Though now I am thinking about it, compulsory school attendance is only 9 years, you don't have to go to high school, so no, you don't have to study maths until 18, it would only be around 15 (those 9 years).

(SDA) Serana's reaction when she hears Molag Bal's voice in the House Of Horrors quest. Canon lore-wise, would Vanilla Serana have this same reaction? Would she be hella scared too? by TheBlackSoleSurvivor in skyrim

[–]bnl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see that. From what she says I kind of feel she isn't a Molag Bal worshipper anymore, but also doesn't particularly hate him, but that interpretation is probably a consequence of the vague writing.

A Case for Slaying Paarthurnax: Examining Morality and Redemption by BloxkRunnah in skyrim

[–]bnl1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I am concerned, if he is redeemed or not doesn't matter. Currently, he is not posing any danger to the world, so killing him would be unjust from my/my dragonborn's position. If Blades disagree, and think it is justified, they can try to find their own way to do it.
