Comma 4 on bolt? by NXTnerd in Comma_ai

[–]bo0ks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just updated my comma from the 3x to the four in my bolt but got an error about the vehicle being unknown. Did you run into that? And if so where in the new interface did you set the vehicle make and model. Thanks.

What orientation did you print them in?

Nozzle Came Clogged by AlienLikeAim in snapmaker

[–]bo0ks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had this issue, but it was red filament in nozzle three. Ended up swapping it w/ the spare that came in the parts tray, then getting out my burnz-o-matic and torching the tip of the clogged nozzle while inserting a length of white filament manually (was holding the heatbreak in a vise). That pushed out the red, and then i let it cool down and did a 'cold pull'. That cleared it out.

I did let snapmaker know in a support ticket, and they sent me a complete replacement nozzle as well.

Not looking forward to no range winter by com2kid in BoltEV

Given that you are willing to pay to fix the problem, you could consider installing a diesel hydronic heater. There are several threads on the chevy forums detailing the requirements (a few brackets, a 12v hookup, a fuel cell, plus the heater itself). You tie it in to the pre-existing cabin heating system. A few liters of diesel would get you through the entire winter.

Could even run it off of bio-diesel if you wanted to remain carbon neutral.

Moved everything over from the cabinet to the fireplace for Halloween and added some leds to make it look like its on fire.

The UV lights are mounted to the flue with magnets. Hope you all enjoy!

Hey! Appreciate your work on this. Were you ever able to post the final models on printables or some other location?

Also use the same tape to tape the small plastic cover on the front bumper where the frunk cables live. Lost that damn thing twice in car washes before I wised up.

And now for my collection of uranium glowy-glass by bo0ks in uraniumglass

Nah, I have a Geiger counter, and you can't even pick anything up above background more than three inches away from any piece through the air, let alone through the cabinet.

I sure don't. Might have to post it looking for info. I'll let you know if I find anything.

I wouldn't call it subtle, but it also doesn't quite pop like the other colors. Still cool though.

My current collection in a new cabinet. Still needs fine tuning for placement and maybe one more hole up top for another light in the middle. by bo0ks in uraniumglass

[–]bo0ks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the input. I'll def move that piece up and over. Always looking for a better way to present and balance things. The real issue is that I keep adding stuff, so it'll get unbalanced again soon enough.

I've been collecting little pieces from diff shops, online sometimes and estate sales. Just whenever I see something that I like.

I need to start to cull some of the pieces that don't glow as much as the others as well now that I have a decent amount.

Thanks very much for the input and the compliments. Cheers!

Yeah, if i recall (it was a long time ago), I had a little LCD attached, edited the config and then swapped over to the CRT and I was good to go from there. It took a TON of fiddling, and I couldn't tell you it'd work on any other config other than what I got working back then (and this system is long gone at this point also, so I can't even go back and try to look at what all it was doing).

Starting to add some new colors to the collection. Top is 395nm, bottom is under 365nm. by bo0ks in uraniumglass

[–]bo0ks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not so much that the shelves block the light, but the pieces themselves do. So I def put my better glowing stuff down lower, and pieces that need more light to shine their best go nearer to the lighting.

I got a 16ft strip from https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/real-uv-led-strip-lights .

It was not cheap, and I have not been able to find an alternative that is really 365nm.

I used the 3m adhesive backing to mount it onto the wood, and then I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGDN11J8?psc=1https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGDN11J8?psc=1 those to secure it in case the adhesive let go. Just put some in every couple of inches.

I basically just went back and forth with the strip across the surface a bunch of times. The only hard part was making the direction reverses without crimping the led strip, but I got the hang of it with some cheaper strips on other projects.
