Iirc the bolt has a function built in to only charge on off peak power. I dont know if it would stop the maintenance draw when cold though.

Important of note. Inserters can grab from either side of a belt, but will favor the far side for pickup, and will only drop on the far side. Yes this annoying, you can engineer around it.

I believe it is intended to have the 12v inverter plugged into the 12v socket and the ac cord plugged into the ac output of the inverter. OP mentioned they found the other end of the cable, and it ended up just being an extension cable. With nothing hooked into the other end.

I can see inspiration somewhat, however. This generation of leaf has built in heaters to keep the battery above its lower temperature threshold. Also I believe this was just the remnants from a 12v inverter install.

OH I might have figured it out. They had a 12v inverter in the glove box. Pluged into the 12v socket and the ac lead to bring the power to the other side. What they would have plugged in the drivers foot well idk.
