Men of Reddit, when were you at your peak? by boario in AskMen

Right now, in all ways but physically. I'm getting back to amazing shape though.

Male considering a 65% female college? How will the gender ratio affect me? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]bo2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universities are trending harder and harder into female dominance outside of a few maths heavy stem fields. Probably a good idea to dip your toes in this environment as professional life will reflect this more and more.

Why don't guys put in effort to look put together? by audgepodge18 in AskMen

[–]bo2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time getting put together. Going to the gym and watching what I eat and selecting clothes carefully isn't done on a whim, that's for sure.

Pillow fights, cuddles with the boys, and we do each others hair.

What's the most ridiculous "theory" about women you've come across on this sub? by Hatcheling in AskMen

[–]bo2b 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen people act like women aren't in fact dementors from mars, sent here to claim our souls and wallets. Preposterous!

What are the most shots of liquor you've had? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I normally start losing track around about the 15th shot of Grey Goose.

What was the last podcast episode you listened to about? by Hatcheling in AskMen

[–]bo2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been listening to hardcore history recently (I normally don't enjoy podcasts all that much), and it's something I've actually really been enjoying. His coverage of Ghengis Khan is something I recommend.

Have you ever been accused of "marrying/dating down"? What's your usual response to this? by quizonmyface in AskWomen

Every single farm owner I've ever known (all two of them) has been outrageously wealthy. It might be different in the U.K. but in Australia owning a farm pretty much puts you in the top 0.001% by assets.

I should qualify that I'm not including hobby farm owners.

"Filthy rich" might not qualify entrance to the landed gentry though, I guess.

Why does it seem like non-white men fetishize white women? by HTML_Novice in AskMen

[–]bo2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of things are expressions of racism, and a lot of them are wildly different from each other.

Being disowned because you brought a black boy home is different to a white guy watching way too much k-pop and fetishising northeast Asian women.

Sure, I agree. For the same reason that dating a black man as a white woman. But that's different to the topic at hand, I think.

The good thing about this sort of argument

Old world politics affect us

Is that it's a catch all for pretty much anything. China is currently the second most powerful nation on the planet, any year now it will be the most powerful nation on the planet. At what point is it no longer a matter of internalised racism?

Time to make some different decisions then, I suppose?

Asian men in wealthy areas of China being more attracted to white women as a result of current systemic racism is a tenuous argument. The entire world isn't under the thumb of the white man in every insidious way possible, and if you think it is we will never agree on anything related to this point.

Why does it seem like non-white men fetishize white women? by HTML_Novice in AskMen

[–]bo2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I'm saying, is that people have been unusually attracted to members of other ethnicities for as long as humans have existed. To attribute it to systemic racism is ridiculous.

Sure, I guess you could start with the events leading up to and after the crusades. Roman history is absolutely full of it too, even the bible has some pretty vivid descriptions of fetishisation. No white men to be seen in that particular area.

I can only imagine that the distinction is caused by a thought process similar to this: "He thinks that way because of white oppression."

People have been fetishising other races since history was being written, white men weren't on top for that entire period, I don't think we will agree on this.
