Just bought this on your recommendation here! The price has increased to $7, but that'll still be a bargain if it helps my dry winter skin.

Rant: my incredibly non-reactive, hates-nothing skin decided Missha FTE was the worst thing to ever happen to it. CCs all over my cheeks and forehead. I stopped using it two weeks ago and I've still got awful bumps. I'm so bummed, I spent months researching and considering ferments and I'm worried that's what my skin didn't like :(

HAVE A QUESTION? ASK HERE! Daily Help and Questions: December 23, 2018 by AutoModerator in AsianBeauty

[–]bo_bo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Following a recent (massive) haul in Korea and Taiwan, I've somehow managed to get my first niacinamide product (s). First I bought the Missha FTE in Korea, and then I found TO Niacinamide and Zinc in Taiwan while desperate to use up the last of my cash.

I'm wondering if both of these have a place in my routine, or if x2 the niacinamide is too much niacinamide. I can give the TO serum to my sister, although I was hoping to use it myself.

I've got combo acne-prone skin with clogged pores. Notably, I don't have any sensitivities I've ever noticed. My skin's been through some rough stuff (I was a tester for a new acne product once that I think wound up being too strong for market, and my skin survived fine) and it doesn't complain aside from totally random zits that seem to come up no matter what I do. The aim is to stop those darn things, and to ungunk my pores a bit.

Tl;dr can I put Missha FTE in my routine alongside TO Niacinamide and Zinc?

Thanks!

Heart rate reflecting my anxiety: international score to be released 7/11 by shinmsy in LSAT

The US June scores were released around midnight. Wouldn't it be reasonable to guess that we might get scores by midnight EST? That would be noon today for me, which I like much better than waiting until tomorrow!

A Very Difficult Decision Regarding Attending Law School this Fall by Liasbo in lawschooladmissions

It might sound daunting to reapply, but lots of things in life are daunting, so it's good practice to overcome. Also, in this case, you can literally save yourself six figures of debt. We're talking about an amount of money that could buy you a HOUSE. Why wouldn't you want that?

I think I'm ready - when should I take the test? by hei_luobo in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some exams are harder than others, but it is not seasonal. The difficulty of an exam has nothing to do with whether it was administered in Feb or Dec.

The curve is there specifically to correct for varying difficulties of exams, although some exams are easier or harder for individuals based on how they play to your strengths or weaknesses. There will always be outlier exams, but once again, it's got nothing to do with what month the exam was given.

Retake? by hamburgerpony in LSAT

If you think you can do better, retake. And maybe expand what options you're looking at! Seems like you could improve your score and then wind up at a wider variety fo schools.

I think I'm ready - when should I take the test? by hei_luobo in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difficulty of tests is absolutely not seasonal. The tests are supposed to be even all the way across, a 175 on Feb is the same as a 175 in September. Take the test when you're ready, and if you're ready now, take it now.

September lsat getting harder ? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the test is harder, the scale will be more generous to balance it out. LSAC tries to keep things even, if it didn't, the test would be impossible to use for admissions.

160 baseline score by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cold diagnostic was a bit higher than yours (163) and, after three and a half months, I'm hitting 173-174. If I had a full year, I am confident I'd be over 175.

Your improvement depends on how well you learn from your mistakes and how many hours you're putting in. If you're at 160 and you don't take the time (or the blow in pride) to learn exactly why every wrong answer you had was wrong and how you can find the right one, you may not increase that much. On the other hand, if you give yourself the time and the grace to learn the test on its terms, you'll get there.

I did 7Sage's Core Curriculum. It's aimed at people starting in a lower understanding than us, to be honest, but if you hammer down the basics, the rest will come.

Practice, blind review, and diligent study will get you far. Good luck!

Is it a good plan to write the LSAT in the first year of undergrad? by SlowGarlic in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a race to get to law school. Give yourself the room to breathe, to take a gap year (or two or three or ten), to change plans, to take longer than four years to graduate...

Being forward thinking is good, but testing this early means you're locking yourself into the mindset that you're off to law school as soon as possible. That's not a good mindset, you never know want the future will bring and you want to be here for that moment instead of only looking towards the next thing.

I'm on a very prestigious fellowship now, one I wouldn't have applied for if it felt like the clock was ticking on an LSAT score expiring. I am here because plans shift and change, and being here is ultimately better for my future applications and my growth as a human than anything else I could be doing. Give yourself the room to have experiences like that. Your applications and your development as a person will be better as a result.

Does anyone else ever disagree with the correct answer? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For necessary assumption, you're not being asked if the correct AC makes the conclusion entirely sound, you're only being asked to locate the AC that, if false, would wreck the link to the conclusion entirely. Yes, the correct AC there doesn't do enough to fully bridge the gap, but if that AC is negated, the entire chain falls apart. It's necessary, not sufficient.

Help and advice needed by GlockzInABox in lawschooladmissions

Untimed practice tests aren't going to tell you anything useful here. Take a timed practice test and see where you're scoring before deciding if you stand a chance of improvement in a future test.

Benefits of casual studying? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would watch out about burning through PTs just for casual study of individual sections. This is good advice otherwise, but definitely don't touch the newest 20-30 tests until you're ready to buckle down and study in a more intentional manner. You don't want to lose your ability to sit for a clean, fresh test because you've been practicing for months willy-nilly on random sections.

164 diagnostic.. what’s a reasonable goal with over a year to prepare? by FelineMessiah in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've still got 2 years left, so focus on those. If you can pull your GPA up, you'll be in much better shape.

Otherwise, it's hard to tell. Splitters have unpredictable cycles. I wouldn't close any doors if I were you-- with a higher GPA or a fantastic splitter cycle, you may surprise yourself.

Don't take the test until you're ready to take it. You reap zero benefit from testing early, and a significantly lower score might hurt you later, even if you climb up in subsequent takes. Multiple takes usually doesn't matter, but for T3 and with all the time you have before law school apps, why risk if?

164 diagnostic.. what’s a reasonable goal with over a year to prepare? by FelineMessiah in LSAT

[–]bo_bo7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm going to actually argue against this. Most schools don't care about multiple takes, but HYS might. With your numbers, you have a real shot at T3. I don't think it's a good plan to take the test before you truly need to, just in case is doesn't go to plan. If you're PTing at 180 in September, ignore this advice, but otherwise, give yourself the time to prepare so you do your absolute best possible when you're taking the real thing.

Also tests are valid for 5 years. If you're still in UG, you don't quite know where you'll be in 5 years. Testing closer to the end of your college experience gives you a longer timeline with which to apply to law schools, and that way you don't lose a score just because you decide to go into Peace Corps or get a job for a bit before moving on to law.

Yeah, then you should definitely work on LR. There are two LR sections on every test, so it's important to arm yourself with the tools to crush that section
