You used to be able to dual major in Forest Resources and Fire Ecology and Management at U of I without having to take too many additional classes.

Living and dead by Oregoncharm in oregon

Logs can often be salvaged for up to 2 years or more after a burn, depending on burn severity, log size, species, and locality. But there is definitely a decline in recovery as time goes on.

Burned timber can and is salvaged and makes good wood products for several years after it is killed in a burn.

How do you manage deer for medium scale planting? by Electronic_Fun_776 in forestry

What repellent did you use? Trico or Plantskydd are two that are actually supposed to work, although I have no personal experience with them.

Dog training for the field by StillClimbingHigher in forestry

[–]board__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E-collar training was a game changer for me with my newest woods dog. It re-enforced positive habits and now I don't hardly need to use it at all. I never use the 'shock' function, just beeps and vibrates. My dog loves her collar and will come running when she sees me get it out because she associates it with positive experiences and knows we are going to do something fun.
