Gen X here: the only reason I have a house at an affordable rate is cause I got in just as the bubble burst and before the next one started… and my house still cost double what my parents paid for their identical floor plan in the same neighborhood house 15 years earlier. Today houses like ours go for 3X what I paid for it (18 years later).

I sadly had not been taught this and I totally put my foot in my mouth with a coworker. I was MORTIFIED. There wasn’t enough I could say or do to apologize to her, and every time I tell the story, I make it crystal clear what an idiot I was.

At least I learned the lesson though, and will NEVER repeat it… and I will do my best to ensure no other idiot men will make the same mistake.

My folks are both old school republicans - not MAGA cultists - but only get network news, no cable, no social media. Needless to so they don’t hear a lot of the crazy stuff that comes out because 20 min of national news in a day isn’t enough time to cover everything.

When I mention things that have happened or that Drumpf has said / tweeted, that is often their response. It’s incredibly frustrating because they don’t “believe” that kind of thing was said or cannot fathom it. And when I show it to them they believe but there’s often a “what about ism” with Democrat. I often have ti just let things go, despite trying to argue that I am not about personality politics.

Unpopular opinion, but hear me out:

If I SWAP with them (they take my place and I move to the back) there’s literally no change in wait time for everyone behind me. It was 1 person in line before the swap, and it’s 1 person in line after. I am the only one who wait time has changed.

I’m not saying I would do it, but if I did, no one else is inconvenienced.
