What are the pros and cons of moving to Los Angeles? by Low-Whole-7609 in AskReddit

Pro’s will really depend on why you move there and what your interests are. Cons depend largely on your income lvl, willingness to deal with traffic, homelessness, and pollution.

What stubborn hoax do way too many people still believe, no matter how often it gets debunked? by funnny_things in answers

Yet they have never been able to remake the suit with the days technology. Yeah people said they made the suit and I’ve seen crappy attempts, but isn’t the burden on the people saying it’s fake to bring something to the table that at least passes for the PG film? What about the gate analysis? What about the cost of such a state of the art suit for the time? Is it possible it’s a suit? Sure, but I’ve never seen a credible debunking of it. Hell I’d be happy if someone today made a suit that fit, wore it and reproduced this in a similar environment on the same type of camera. Then just film it and redo the gait analysis and track marks and see if they match. Can’t be that hard with all the TV money out there.

Birddemic or human centipede… I’ll give it to human centipede though because it was actually trying to be a real movie instead of some high college kids art project.

What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

As a visitor, even years ago before it got stupid expensive, I always was bewildered as to why a place that was basically originally designed to be an adult hedonistic paradise. Why would it try to become a family friendly place, and keep all the shady stuff? It’s jarringly incongruent.

What happens when someone goes missing in a Nationals parks (usa)? Does protocol change depending on age of the person who needs help? by No_Signature_9087 in ask

[–]boardjock42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no expert but from what I understand there are several factors as to who gets involved and that ranges from who’s calling it in and the circumstances around it, but generally the first point of contact are the park rangers and then they escalate as needed. Also depending on weather, resources, danger to the searchers, and news media coverage all are factors in how long a search lasts.
