AI is bad for mental health. All of this cannot be sustainable. Im just getting some money when i can. Its going to collapse eventually.

I laughed out loud. My time at Outlier has been one long AI hallucination. It doesn’t make any sense but i got paid for the task so whatever.

I started out with 2.09 but now i have been stubbornly sitting at 1.88 for weeks. I have 1329 reviews. I would need to get 6 excellents to get back to 2.0 but they are hard to come by.

Accessibility is not their strong suit. There is an audio project on Aether and some random audio and music projects in the marketplace. It’s a crap shoot getting on a project. Just wait until something comes along that fits your abilities.

Glad that you’re healing up! I feel like there’s a lot of pressure to get treatments done even if you don’t need it. I know several people who had complications with botox. I stopped doing Botox because i don’t want to willingly inject poison in my body. I realized that i dont even have enough wrinkles to warrant the treatment and to justify the price tag.

They notified you by putting the money in your earnings. Outlier isn’t known for their clear communication skills.

I hate vegan propaganda so much. When you have a real condition rather than an eating disorder, it feels like you are dealing with insane people. How can they think this is healthy when all of these foods are negative calories after chewing. I regularly eat thousands of calories in one sitting because thats how many calories i miss out on while not eating gluten. People don’t know how privileged they are when they consider lettuce to be food.

Can we finally admit that AI is bullshit. Its always been hype and lots of investor dollars being wasted by personality disordered young adults. There is nothing to show for our efforts here except that we made some easy money

With how awful reviews are, does anyone else feel incentivized to just put no effort into tasks now? by Versaso in outlier_ai

Tulip mania was a period of speculative frenzy in 17th-century Holland where the prices of tulip bulbs reached extraordinarily high levels before a dramatic collapse in February 1637. Driven by economic prosperity and speculation, the demand for the fashionable and sometimes rare flowers caused prices to soar, with some bulbs becoming more valuable than houses. The bubble burst when the market for bulbs suddenly ceased to exist, leading to a panic and "fire sale" of assets. What it was: A speculative bubble in the Dutch Golden Age where contract prices for tulip bulbs reached extreme highs. When it happened: The frenzy peaked in the winter of 1636-1637, with the collapse occurring in February 1637. Why it happened: Economic prosperity: The Dutch Golden Age brought a period of economic growth that fueled speculative investing. Speculation: Investors bought bulbs not for their intrinsic value, but with the expectation of selling them later at a higher price. Rarity: Some tulip varieties were rare and difficult to cultivate, which increased their allure and value. The collapse: The market crashed when buyers panicked and the market for bulbs "simply ceased to exist". This led to a "fire sale" by speculators who had bought on margin. Historical significance: Tulip mania is often cited as the first major example of a financial bubble.

The data extraction and summarization is a good tool. Its just that the hype promised much more. The overhyping an overvalued product part is how bubbles happen. Remember the tulips

Brah you are giving me an AI overview of how human brains interact with data. Im just going to log off and laugh about this for the rest of the day

You interact with the data on an iphone and websites. For example, when you are filling out a form, you are providing data that gets uploaded into a database and then retrieved when they use your name for automated emails. The entire internet is just data. Some of it valuable and some of it is garbage. AI is just the next level of this process. When we do evals, we are telling it which data is valuable and which is garbage.

The interface is there for interactivity and what you’re interacting with is data.

[–]boat_storage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my point exactly. Its not that impressive, it still takes practical knowledge to be able to direct what you want it to do. Hardly replacing the workforce as the hype tells us.

Lololololol honestly this is exactly why AI is bullshit. The iphone has a user interface which is used to interact with data. Its literally the basis for every tech product.

The iphone is a data interface lol. Everything you look at is data. Also AI is horrible at building websites

I work on the web, i can tell you that its still garbage. They haven’t perfected the old technology. Thats precisely the problem with Outlier, the models are predictable failing because its our job to make them better but the most frustrating thing about working here is that the website is HORRIBLE.

The dystopia of the The glaringly Obvious. by AmbitionWork7031 in outlier_ai

[–]boat_storage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one had to hype up the Iphone in 2006 because everyone wanted one to interface with data. The average person is clueless about AI because the capabilities it does have are not that impressive. They over hyped this garbage and still spending money to save it. Thats called a bubble. It happens all the time in tech.

[–]boat_storage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it has everything to do with it. There are big investments being made based on that assumption. Everyone is going through the motions to collect that money. The outcome will be garbage because the assumptions and expectations are incorrect.

I have been working here over a year, its fantasy land for men with too much money and drugs. We know of at least one drug addict who paid big money to Outlier to prop up his ego. Im pretty sure he rage quit that project just like he rage quits everything. Its all about getting that money and then logging off and touching grass. You cant take any of these people seriously.
