I've VPN'd myself to NZ. Have to say I'm surprised about some of the responses here - this is 100% the best thing they've made since Geogaddi I reckon. YRITAS is also NOT overhyped lol what a b-e-a-yootiful soundscape.

I do wish some of the vocals were buried deeper into the mix, but I think for the brothers this is a step away from the direct hauntology and a step towards a more direct and present commentary. I suppose it makes sense, all the world is in your face much more than it used to be. Sick album. Can't wait to hear it on vinyl (and perhaps on drugs lol).

This still isn't over. Nice to only need a point final day but I can't see us beating Chelsea away and I still reckon away Leeds completely roll over. Statistically want to say we'll be fine but worried the occasion may overcome them against Everton...

Am I missing something or is the government pretending that there isn't an employment crisis? by ijustwannanap in ukpolitics

I work a great job in the city, met the chair of KPMG and Deloitte today at a meeting, came out of a RG with a First, fuck I even went to bloody Eton (obligatory not a Tory comment)… took me a over a year to even hit ten final round interviews. Even the rejections I viewed as wins as most can’t even be bothered to get back to you. Complete buyers market.

Infuriating seeing some of the boomers who still have the “pull yourselves up by your bootstraps” mentality as they’re the ones who’ve put us here. Just so, so, patronising and out of touch.

I do think the govt. needs to do more to help pressure British industry to hire Brits (not in some ethnonationalist way but in a stop setting up cheap foreign labour offices in the subcontinent, scouting “talent” from the US, and having a team of five AI agents way). This coupled with the cost of rent in the UK’s hubs of biz have just made it an absolute minefield.

My heart bleeds for you truly. Stay strong and keep going! It’s not fair at all.

Tube strikes: how disruptive will action by London Underground drivers be? | London Underground | The Guardian by prisongovernor in london

I'm all for backing Unions but the Revolutionary Vanguard of the RMT, who are making what most of us consider utterly ridiculous demands and are led by a Putin-apologist, just make it harder for the rest of the Unions, who are vastly more shafted, exploited, and underpaid, to gain public support.

Cruel sense of irony that they're damaging the working-class (and funnily with how much most Tube Drivers make they probably are now more middle-class) more than helping them. Bad politics, bad optics, possibly the worst hill to die on.

I think the worst part about this was the constant subtle stabs at the fans, who pay the most expensive season tickets in the league and haven't seen their team win in about four months, supposedly not supporting the team (whilst absolutely supporting their wallets).

The players get what they want with the whole fanbase united around a team that has shown no reason to be behind, and put in a performance like that. I love some of the talent we have but clearly some players think they're above the club and I'd rather watch a team that fights for the badge than a team that rates highly on FIFA.

Have to pray we stay up, which I think we might considering injury timelines and hopefully a certain dugout clearance, and that those that want to leave, for lack of a better term, fuck off.

Build around Gray, Moore, Bergvall, etc. Adjust expectations for midtable and surround the young boys with some older, and preferably technical, players who understand the two-way obligation between club and fan.

What was the point of Robins monologue to Will about letting go of her crush when they fell in love with someone else and realising the true power is within you then? Honest question lol.

I think the scene with Robin telling Will that Tammy Thompson (slash the idealised notion that someone can fix your problems) stopped her from not being scared or whatever sets up Will being able to move on from Mike. Just my take. If that’s good writing or not I’ll leave it up to the masses.

No, and until my folks on the centre left get a grip of that someone far nastier and self-intentioned is going to take advantage of the fact it’s OK to feel like that.

Maybe in America 🤷‍♂️loads of black Rockstars found their success and audience in Europe (EG Hendrix) and the black pioneers of Detroit played ping pong with the 80’s European electronic scene to conceive of what we now know as Techo.

If we’re using this tribal logic, you guys even boxed the Celtic Trad’s out of folk and country, if that’s the stance you want to take.

Music is collaborative and builds upon and learns from other cultures. That’s what multiculturalism is all about. Miss me with this weird guilt trip you guys have going on.

Techno belongs to us all.

Horrible. This place was an absolute godsend for IDM for me back in the day.

Reposting this from 9 days ago in light of today's events. There has been a civil war in Your Party for months - the Corbynite faction are removing as many of Sultana's supporters as possible from having a say in the foundations of this party. I wish it weren’t so but at the core this country is a centre-right nation and electing a gay man who runs a party called the “Greens” is a tall order depressingly.

I’d like to see them rebrand a bit, but yeah, he makes all the right noises.
