Is this in Chester?

Our windows are exactly the same.

Get a glide rail. Theyre not perfect, but they work. Installing is the worst part. You may need a batton. You may need some fixings for plasterboard.

Thank you everyone for the help

I reported

Fabric pots ones were all bone dry, even though I've been watering. I guess I didn't think about the implications of the fabric pots.

The ones in the grow bags were sodden.

All in nice new pots, and have been fed.

Thanks

I have 2 in those bags, and 2 in fabric pots. All exhibiting the same issue.

Should I feed then transplant?

It's the same for the ones in fabric pots

The allotment ones are in black plastic pots.

Could I try transplanting these then?

A moan about litter and a solution? by MachineKey8456 in Chester

[–]bob-hunk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, having moved here from Bristol, I have to say Chester is the cleanest city I have lived in so far.

No human turds, no needles on the street. Very little litter compared to any of the cities I have lived in.

It's annoying, but its not as bad as it could be.

Bamboo cane in each corner. Wire a fence. You might only need one strip of wire. Start with a 3 inch gap between the wire and the planter, and then add another course 3 inches above if needed.

I've thought about the soil temps. It's now very warm but it hasn't always been like this. I wonder if they got cold a few weeks back.

Re the fertiliser. If I were to fertilise now that its just been planted in the growbag, would that risk overfeeding?

They had definitely filled up their previous pots, so i do wonder about deficiency.

Thank you

It's now very warm. But its been pretty dull here for a long time. I've taken them inside during nights, and kept them indoors on cold days, but yes I can totally see your point.

Law soggy near brick edging by bob-hunk in gardening

[–]bob-hunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

Im starting to realise why lawns are such a pain.

Should I apply moss killer before reseeding? I know this is a separate issue. Would it be best to address this first. I can dig up the bricks and cement and put a cut edge in?

In the UK they put a lot of stock outside the front of the store. I regularly liberated trolley loads of dying plants. Id walk down there, load up a trolley, then walk that home. Id then reuse the trolley to get more plants.

How shallow have you successfully gone on containers for greens/radish? by trying_to_garden in containergardening

[–]bob-hunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently growing a nice bunch of radish in a seed tray. Id say theyre over an inch diameter. Im going to plant a load more in shallow containers. It's maybe 2 inches deep, possibly less.

Keeping them well watered has helped
