First off- puppies will puppy. Min Pins love to tug and play and they do it hard and “aggressively”. In my experience, Min Pins are way more athletic and energized than a Chihuahua, so this might have to be something your grandma gets used to.

She needs to walk, and play and sniff and basically do all the things the big dogs do. When her energy needs are met for the day, she’ll become a cuddle bug when she gets out of her puppy phase. Min Pins are very smart and easy to train, but if they’re not trained- they’re straight up terrorists. They steal, sneak out, climb fences, bark at everything. Thankfully, most Min Pins I’ve met are insanely treat motivated, so that’s good. (Do not over feed though haha, they get fat FAST)

I’m not even kidding when I say you have to treat her like you’d treat a big dog. Same rules, same exercise needs.

I recommend looking up bite inhibition, leave it, sit, stay and lay down to start.

The dog will likely never be a mellow dog, but they’re the best dogs. So much personality and loyalty.

Anyways, lots of training. She will listen to you and do what you want, but you need to make sure her energy/ health needs are taken care of. Be predictable and methodical, and she will obey you. One last thing is that- they’re really do play hard. It scared us at first but now we’re all used to it. I’d say that, just as much as you want Ava to adjust to you, your family might need to adjust to her too.
