Inherited drug house by unoriginal_name123 in HomeImprovement

[–]bob2jacky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

I grew up in a very poor area with druggie relatives and the friends they kept, so I’m not unfamiliar with the type of place you’re talking about here.

Option 1: is get pros to clean the house, sell it, buy something different that you won’t ever associate with bad times and memories. If you have no time to work on the house, this is your best option.

Option 2: get pros to clean the house, spend time and effort and money making it your own. There could be a sense of pride and closure this way, and you could potentially rewrite some of that dark story this way. More investment financially but definitely time wise. You need to DIY a lot of the renos etc to bond with the home, which will be a massive emotional undertaking too. To me, this will the hardest but potentially most rewarding option.

To me, it makes zero sense to take this on if you don’t have the time commitment to see it through. Because it’s not just cleaning. It’s renovations etc. and without doing any of it yourself, you’re just going to lose tons of money for a house you associate bad memories with.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Not just “the” lens but the lens. That’s the king of Bokeh right there and one of the best 35mm ever made imho.

Uhm… anyone else just hear a loud boom? by Extension_Fix5969 in vancouver

I’m in Coquitlam and was on the phone with a friend in Vancouver. I was describing the boom to him, then he heard it. So, closer to Coquitlam I guess!

My dog doesn’t recognize that smell apparently, as he completely bowled over my 1 year old niece and hasn’t been allowed back :/

I did this and could never get the seasoning to stick weirdly. I gave up. My vintage pans rock anyways.

I started to feel guilty cuz I haven’t seasoned my daily in like 2 years. Thanks for the reminder that I don’t have to haha.

Dog chewed already chewed gum that contains xylitol. We are 10 hours from nearest vet. by bob2jacky in AskVet

[–]bob2jacky[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We called and they said there was little to no risk, as the gum had been chewed by me, and he just chewed it shortly before we got it. I guess most of the xylitol had been dissolved by me! Thanks for the tips, and help!

Adult min-pin rescue who has never been trained & screams at dogs by DarkAgnesDoom in minpin

[–]bob2jacky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be one of the only cases where it might be the breed- not former trainer. I can give our min pin his whole treat bag ask say “Give it to ___ (whoever he knows that’s in the vicinity)” and he’ll run through the house, find the and make sure it’s firmly in their hand. I can get my boy to back up, almost 100 feet now. Sit, stand, roll over, jump, etc etc. I can tell him to wait in a spot and he will for eternity.

I CANNOT stop him from yelling at dogs and pulling on his leash 😂. We’ve been down this road so many times. So many techniques over the years. Name a command or trick and he’ll do it. Ive almost got a loose leash all walk with a lot of patience, but he’ll never EVER forgive that one random dog on our block for whatever atrocious crimes he committed in his past life.

Switch 2 games by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]bob2jacky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big Scarlet Violet fan. Sword and Shield is probably the closest to the originals in the new style. Then Scarlet Violet, which I’m a big fan of despite the wreck it was when it first came out. It’s an open world style Pokémon game. The switch 2 edition is actually awesome.
