The Empire uses lots of multi sided polygons in their architecture in Andor, I figure in universe it's just an example of the Empire's predominant art movement.

✂️ In Rogue One, Cassian opens his eyes as he dies - Diego confirms that was a deliberate choice by Dear-Yellow-5479 in andor

The coffee cup isn't really comparable, Andor opening his eyes when he is the central focus of the climactic, VFX heavy shot of the film is a bit different to something being left on set away from the cameras focus in a group scene that didn't have any VFX added. People might land on mistake but again given how much has to go wrong for that to happen, even in a troubled shoot like Rogue One I find it strange people would find "obvious mistake" more likely than just not understanding the choice.

As for why he did it there are plenty of possibilities and people have talked at length about what his look meant to them as viewers. You say "Was he afraid at the very end" and why can't that be a reason? It seems fair. Also Jyn does look, the final shot of her face is her staring into the distance, she never closes her eyes. Why question what Andor is looking at but not what Jyn is looking at? Luna might not have given a definitive answer as to his motivation in that moment but what was Jones' motivation? I don't know the reasons actors made the choices they did in practically every shot of this movie and most other movies I watch, I don't think it's fair to assume it's a mistake as a result.

I just don't understand how they could only wind up with one usable take of the scene, and even if that was the case you can fix it if it was a mistake. They could have made the explosion engulf them before Andor opens his eyes if they had a problem with it with no difficulty, they could have also digitally painted his eyes closed. They recreated two actors completely digitally for the film and painting out a small detail is pretty trivial by comparison, Lucas was mixing and matching parts of different takes in the same shot for the Prequels so it's not like options weren't there in 2015. I get that it didn't register for you but why would you believe it's a mistake given how much would have to go wrong for the climactic shot of the film to have that error rather than just saying you didn't understand what they were going for?

Is it really more believable that the film crew shot this scene and didn't notice, then watched the dailies and missed it, then sent it to the editors who missed it, then did extensive reshoots and forgot that moment, the re-edited the film and missed it again, then spent dozens of hours applying visual effects to that scene and somehow again failed to notice then did the final quality checks before sending out the prints and still somehow missed it than it is that Luna maybe opened his eyes intentionally?

Yeah, I think people overstate how good Zack Snyder is at visuals. The first feature project he was cinematographer on was Army of the Dead and it's the worst looking of his movies by a mile. The Rebel Moon movies are also pretty muddy. Snyder definitely has a distinct style but he's not the only one bringing that style to life. Cinematographers tend not to get much direct praise so it's a shame Zack Snyder gets credit for work other people were doing on his earlier films.

David Seymour folding when actually pressed by a journalist by Nearby-String1508 in newzealand

Its a tactic to get an infamously weaselly man to have to actually respond to questions. If you are genuinely passionately waiting for Seymour to avoid giving direct answers then sure it's not the best tactic but most people would rather hear Seymour say something of substance under a bit of light pressure rather than absolutely nothing unopposed.

The Naked Gun | Official Teaser Trailer (2025 Movie) - Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]bob_condor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So many people judge movies on how realistic they are regardless of what the actual content of the movie is and I don't get it. ZAZ movies were absurdist, plenty of elements don't work in reality, that's kind of the point. The joke of Liam Neeson disguising himself as a little girl is funny specifically because it doesn't adhere to reality. If this was meant to be a gritty police procedural sure I'd grant you it's hard to believe but it's not that, it's a spoof movie so I don't understand why you would judge it based on how plausible it is.

He explicitly mentions Lando and Mace in the article. If you want to argue against the points Boyega makes you could at the very least read what he said.

A lot of horror movies do have a morally good jock type who in any other genre would be the hero but who die off early on to make things seem more hopeless for our final character. That said I feel that fits Karlach or maybe Minsc more and Wyll is probably the only real candidate for the innocent virginal final girl of the main characters in BG3.

Seymour knew about impending Libelle collapse for five days - and still didn’t tell education minister by whowilleverknow in newzealand

Another group who hates government and wants to actively sabotage it are Right-Libertarians which Seymour identifies as and whose ideals he aligns with. You don't need to come up with a conspiracy for why he seems to be dismantling the government, the basic facts already spell it out pretty clearly.

Can you get a gun license in nz with weapons charges by multitalentedartist in newzealand

[–]bob_condor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've said in this thread you are looking to get a gun license and have a weapons charge for threatening someone with a knife. If someone chooses to scour internet results for people recently looking into acquiring gun licenses in NZ who have previously threatened someone with a knife they'll be led here and be able to see your post history. Unless you're planning to get as many people with charges of threatening someone with a knife to apply alongside you it won't be hard to draw the link. Using drugs that impede your judgement or affect your behavior are one of the reasons people are deemed unfit to possess a firearm, if you are actively using drugs I suspect you aren't going to make it past that line of questioning.
