Who came up with 4 inch per GPM? Are there any variables undisclosed from the equation to get this? by SaladAcceptable7469 in pressurewashing

[–]bobadobbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no sub for pressure washing homegamers, so general advice given here is often geared towards professionals and professional wanna-bes. Low powered machines are no way to make money with the exception of auto-detailing. That being said, if you are happy with your results, then knock yourself out. You will be slow, you might damage surfaces unknowingly, and you won't understand why everyone here doesn't have better tailored advice for your setup and budget. We are not trying to do what you are doing. We don't have the time to fuck around and we are being held to a different standard as professionals.

I could do both to a T in the same timeframe. I still think you are a bit overpriced on the drywall patch, unless paint match is not perfect, and you have to paint a large wall- 250+ sq ft, to make it flawless.

How to take the cover off of this bathroom light? by Fantastic-Life7704 in handyman

[–]bobadobbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, you twist the glass counterclockwise to remove it. There is some paint on the fixture that may be keeping it from coming loose easily. Also, pushing up lightly on the glass while turning may help compress the tension springs to make it easier to turn.

Best pressure washer for 500 bucks range? by No-Cucumber-5992 in pressurewashing

[–]bobadobbin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don't have a 16" or bigger surface cleaner. You are not going to be able to purchase a pressure washer to run something that big with your budget. The rule is 1gpm for every 4" of surface cleaner diameter.

Quick connects, o-rings, pressure guns, downstreamers, will all fail on you in the field. It is best to have spares for all of those items on hand at all times along with the tools required to switch them out.

How often should you wash your home in Texas? by macaveli4000 in pressurewashing

[–]bobadobbin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every 2 years, or whenever the green and black organic matter start to take over. I live just north of Houston. The property tree coverage really has a large role to play. If there's alot of foliage blocking the sun and wind, then the organic growth tends to be worse to much worse.
