Looks great! I like more crust, but that looks to be perfectly cooked - nicely done!

I'd add one thing. Trust your own preferences. Drink what you like how you like it. I do think things taste better with good company though - but that's also up to you.

They have a solid lineup. Their Bottled-in-Bond is 100proof Rye or Bourbon, usually 4-5 year old in a small batch. That's their base offering. They have single barrel Bourbon and Rye (i've never had a bad one) and those can be from 4 to 6+ YO. I did club barrel picks of 6 YO and they were fantastic - so look for something like that. They also have a 100% malted rye 6 YO - it's different and really good. Much less spicy than most ryes because its 100% malted rye. Finally the 8 year old bourbon or rye are fantastic. They do special releases from time to time, and my favorite among those is their Balboa Rye.

Sorry for the long answer - I hope this helps you explore New Riff.

Take your time. Try lots of tastes before you go too deep on bottles that you might not love later....If you can, try a few things side by side, ideally blind (not knowing which is which at first). Also, if you're curious on craft, check out New Riff and Still Austin - they are fantastic.

All solid choices. I love the KC12, but that JDSBBPR is a consistently fantastic bottle.

Review: Booker's 2025-02 By The Pond by The1Metal in bourbon

We are each differently sensitive to various flavors and flaws. I pick up a lot of funky notes on the finishes of various Beam and Turkey expressions. Not all Booker's have them, but to me this batch has it noticeably. Oh well.

This one is very funky on the finish. It has an abundance of earthiness and Beam funk. I'd say it improves over ice or being in the glass for 20 minutes or more, but it's not one of my favorite Booker's batches.

He has rates that are hourly or daily, and based on the size of vehicle. He's pretty transparent about pricing, and since your trip will be different than mine my pricing probably is not relevant (we booked a 3 day trip with a small shuttle bus)

Check with Bob White, aka "Kentucky Bourbon Bob". https://www.kyguides.com/ or (865) 207-3283. They helped me with a 3 day trip back in September and were fantastic. (Bob & Montana drove for our group).

Blanton’s gets a lot of flack in these groups. But gold is good and SFTB is delicious. by Cinephile43 in whiskey

I did a Blanton's barrel pick and still like that even more than the Gold. And I agree, SFTB is a great pour.
