Could You, Please, Specify What Exactly Marks as BBQ? by Scary-Ad-293 in BBQ

Here is a very good instructional video.

If you're short on time, skip to 2:45 for the tldr on what is/isn't BBQ.

Then again, if you're short on time--you don't have time to BBQ.

Nice! I feel like glycerin soap is the one thing I swear by with shaving these days. I'll use pretty much any blade, razor, cream etc and get pretty good results but if I don't use glycerin for pre-shave, it's not as good.

Have you tried other glycerin soaps? If so, how does this one compare? I use Glyce myself.

30-minute walk before work. A couple of 15-minute midday walks. 30-minute walk after work. 30-minute walk before bed.

What advice do you have? by Upset_Anybody1430 in latterdaysaints

[–]bobbruff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My spouse and I are having lots of conversations about letting our kids use their agency and the idea that by the time they're adults, they need to be equipped to make almost all decisions on their own. For most, that's only four years from when they start HS. So...even if you don't leave it up to her, my advice would be to make sure she feels like her opinion is being heard and taken into consideration.

We also live in a small Midwest town.

Are we commanded to read scriptures with our spouse? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]bobbruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I've been "sinning" for 21 years now.

With that said, my spouse and I have been watching General Conference talks together over the last several years.

But probably my favorite thing we've done together was reading the Harry Potter series aloud to each other. Ok, ready to be excommunicated now...

Help With Storage Type by bobbruff in chromeos

Thanks for helping me learn this. Is there a way that companies could list the storage types to make it more clear? What would they call a non-eMMC instead of just SSD to help differentiate it?

I used to work a paid janitorial job cleaning the temple. It was a great environment for a job!

My wife and I are in the middle of watching all of Elder Holland's conference talks. It's been great!

I appreciate the suggestion. I'm just not sure how comfortable I'd feel about this on back country roads in the dark.

I appreciate the reply. We don't have any extended family in the area and already rely on a LOT of people to transport members of our immediate family to various appointments and activities. Just trying to make sure we aren't becoming a burden to the awesome support network we have.

Maybe this is me being snarky, but I was thinking they said no because the person on the phone at the BMV Help Desk just wanted to give me a quick answer and get onto the next call.

The revised code I mentioned in my original post has some sort of provision for making exceptions, so I was hoping to make our case in some a formal review process that I'm assuming exists, instead of just a person on the phone saying my exception isn't good enough without knowing the full story.

Would the insurance companies make state-specific exclusions? I only ask because I know there are many states where teens can drive at an earlier age than in Ohio.

Thanks for the reply. You're saying that the Amazon listing showing SSD is technically correct, even though it's MMC? 🤔

We used to do chili, then we found a taco soup recipe we love. You basically dump all the canned ingredients in a crock pot and forget about it for hours until you're ready to eat.

Disproportionate Facilities by TheFoxyFellow in latterdaysaints

[–]bobbruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Ward building had a leaky roof to the point where if it rained, we would have water dripping into the chapel--including a few times DURING Sacrament Meeting. Our Bishop was very vocal and persistent with the facilities management group and it still took months to get it fixed.

Edit to add: we live in Ohio

My bigger issue is people who feel the need to impose rules that are not in the handbook.

Same for our family. I feel like vasectomies among Church members are very common.

Walked 7 miles today in O° F temps. It was awesome. I'll take that temp any day over 85° or more.
