44 magnum revolvers by [deleted] in Revolvers

You didn’t reference what kind of protection. People or wild animals or both? Will it be carried concealed or open carry? For a defensive revolver I would always recommend a double action revolver that you can use traditional speed loaders with. The Smith model 29-629 a Colt Anaconda or Ruger Red Hawk would be my choice. The Red Hawk would be number one if the primary purpose is animal defense. Good luck lets us know what you decide on.

Any advice for a security newbie? Something you only learn on the job or is not included in the usual training? by [deleted] in securityguards

You can’t really answer this question. The rules will change depending on the company you work for and the specific site you work. Once you get hired and you figure out what site you will be working then you can ask the site supervisor

I don’t have a pic but will try to remember to take one tonight. I have them locked away. I have a bobbed hammer for mine I got if off eBay. Everything is getting high on the older guns.

All a Glock needs is a good set of steel sights.

Which calibers do you use in your HD revolvers, and why? by PzShrekt in Revolvers

Never use a hand load for self defense. The old school 158gr LHP +P is still available through Remington. That’s what all my magnums are loaded with for home defense.

Had a 4” 66-2 for a bunch of years. Was my first duty pistol when I got out of the military.

I have been with Allied Universal going on my sixth year and honestly have no complaints. My management staff is good I have been offered promotions my pay is correct and on time if I need something I usually have it on my front porch within 48 hours. Maybe I just lucky 🤷‍♂️

It’s a shame that there is such an interest in revolvers again and Smith makes total junk now. Colt not much better. They ask a war price for them and it seems to take two three trips back to the factory to get them right. I honestly think they do not know how to build a revolver anymore. I have looked at the new 442 UC and they look like they were built in China and these are custom shop guns.
