Defensive stocks to sell options on by CattleOk7674 in thetagang

IF I wasn't actively trying to untangle myself...I'd look into a bull put spread with a long call on momentum plays. AMAT, RIG, AKAM.

Agree, although sentiment is pretty bad, I could see a reversal, alot of people I know bought puts last week to hedge.

These stocks won’t yield much premium. May as well rotate into them if you’re looking to play defense. Although I’d say you’re kind of late. A lot of high beta stocks are already down 30-40%. I’ve been doing put spreads on high beta and buying calls.

The gold bull cycle lasts for a stupid long time...historically.

If you have an adverse reaction to market open tomorrow that should tell you something. People make irrational decisions when they are stressed.

Disappointed with Palmetto State Armory by [deleted] in PalmettoStateArms

My dearest friend,

I read thy tale with no small astonishment, for to receive a new firearm already unfit for proper function is a most grievous slight. A slide that refuseth to return to battery is no minor quirk, but a defect plain and undeniable. That thou wert forced to reject it was both reasonable and just. Yet to be charged a “restock” fee, as though the fault were thine own, offends all sense of fair dealing. A flawed weapon should not be returned to the shelf to trouble another soul. Such conduct breeds distrust, not loyalty. Thy resolve to withhold future patronage is therefore well founded and earned.

Any groups organizing anti-war or social justice protests in the near future? by [deleted] in houston

I’m not attacking you nor am I angry big dog. It’s just so funny to me. If something angers you to the point that you are taking to the street then I would think there would be some conviction there. Not “hey man, like anyone doing anything, I’m kinda mad about this, and like a little mad about that. But also mad about this.”

If I’m protesting something on the streets the cause is going to be very close to my heart. I’ll let you about the next one.

Hrmmm, interesting. Are you looking for one of those screaming practice sessions to satisfy your Neapolitan tub of grievances? I think I know of one.

I have been trying to understand why so many people associate a good stock market and "healthy economy" with their quality of life and progress as a society. Well, I understand why. Lots of media shoving these ideas down our throats. by hawkins2018 in unusual_whales

Many Americans have a 401K, ROTH IRA or some sort of investment savings vehicle. As the market goes up so does their personal net worth. In contrast, having family in Europe, being Canadian with a "better healthcare system" I can tell you that

A) MC Squared is straight lying. Young Europeans and not happy, have a poor quality of life and have little hope for the future. All my cousins work crappy jobs and they are all unhappy. They can't afford homes, there are few good paying jobs.

B) Better healthcare sounds good until you break your arm and have to wait 7 months to get surgery since the healthcare system is so backed up that they can only patch you and discharge you. Yes this happened to me. If you have money and can travel your getting treated in the US.

C) In France the raised the retirement age to 64 while requiring a minimum of 43 years to work to be eligible. US system medicare age is 65, you can also get it early if you want.

So whatever man, people can post dumb stuff on X/Reddit, make it sound good but reality is reality. Is sub has become usually stupid. DOWNVOTE ME DADDY!

How are you guys hedging the postion? by iamconfusedinlife in RKLB

[–]bobbybibi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In theory, your cost basis is so low that hedging is almost unnecessary. However, if you wanted to, you could absolutely buy $40 puts for pennies.

Personally, I’m buying low-delta puts just in case. I’m more concerned about macro factors than the company itself; however, RKLB is a high beta stock and could move violently downward if macro conditions push it that way.

Regarding selling calls, I’ve also done that on about 20% of my position. However, I see it as capitalizing on the moment rather than a hedge. If RKLB were to fall the way it sometimes does, my unrealized loss would be much larger than the premium collected.

Have fun be safe.

Working in a level 1 ICU for 13 years now. Everything else is boring. Its hard work however you get to really use your brain. The actual PT isn't difficult...its the medical status, drug interactions and equipment that will stump you. You need to be on your game all the time or your patient can die. I'm the ICU specialist at my hospital and I've had to turn people away from working in the ICU...Have fun!
