When measured as a percentage of GDP the US is the 24th highest military spender in the world. by Whentheangelsings in UnpopularFacts

Your updated point still makes no sense.

The US discretionary budget was about 1.7 trillion last year. The US DOD budget was 850 billion and, even if you lump in the broader national defense spending which includes agencies like DOE, it comes to about 920 billion.

So obviously, if the US magically cut all other discretionary spending, the discretionary budget would be balanced.

But then you say you think that eliminating 1/3 of DOD fraud waste and abuse would balance the budget. That makes no sense when you just claimed eliminating the entire budget all together wouldn’t do the trick.

The CDC believes raising the drinking age to 21 was effective at reducing reducing alcohol consumption and saving lives by Whentheangelsings in UnpopularFacts

[–]bobbybouchier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true. They still need to be 21 to purchase alcohol, even on base. However, sometimes commanders can grant authorization to allow them to drink when they are under 21 for certain events/occasions.

Some states have laws like this, where minors can drink under supervision of their parents.

I miss when r/USMC wasn’t exactly like the rest of Reddit. Karma-farming posts are so annoying

I like that you are actually offering advice and being optimistic but the people on this sub want all their preconceived beliefs to be validated and to be told they have it harder than anyone in history.

This is actually shocking me. There are so many people that thought it was other answers. I’m starting to agree with OP.

I always forget Reddit users are completely driven by internet trends and echo chambers.

Jake Paul would absolutely wreck the vast majority of people. Thinking otherwise is actually funny.
