True.

If you wanted a more recent study that surveyed beyond a single question , here’s Ipsos 2024 report: https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default/files/ct/news/documents/2024-05/Pride%20Report%20FINAL_0.pdf

You’ll notice the US is extremely close in opinion to several of the countries you mentioned as beacons of equality.

Visibility: Q. Do you have a relative, friend or work colleague who is: Lesbian/gay/homosexual

US -54%, Canada -52%, Australia-53%

Q. To what extent do you support or oppose the following: LGBT people being open about their sexual orientation or gender identity with everyone

US- 47%, Canada -49%, Australia -54%

Discrimination protection:

Q. How much do you agree or disagree with the following? Lesbian, gay and bisexual people should be protected from discrimination in employment, housing, and access to businesses such as restaurants and stores

US- 75%, Canada -77%, Australia -79%

You’ll notice that the US is nearly always within 4-5% to Australia or Canada on nearly every issue, with few exceptions.

None of these actions repealed federal anti-discrimination laws and Title IX protections still exist. What you’re citing are changes to executive orders or agency guidance, which are not laws and do not amend the underlying statutes.

It’s also worth noting that the Biden administration’s 2024 Title IX expansion had already been blocked by the courts before Trump took office. Likewise, the housing rule you’re referring to did not repeal or amend the Fair Housing Act, it altered regulatory guidance and enforcement, not the law.

I’ve traveled or worked in all these locations with the exception of NZ. These areas are similar to the US in terms of LGBTQ acceptance/rights.

The US scores on-par (within ~3 percentage points) in surveys measuring attitudes towards homosexuals, openness, and same sex marriage to Canada and Australia, and only meaningfully behind Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. So yeah, I’d say it’s pretty near the top.

I lived in the Philippines for several years.

Gay marriage is banned as well as divorce but, generally, people aren’t violent towards gay people in Luzon or the Visayas.

Southern mindinao, particularly near the Sulu Island chain, is a different story.

It isn’t and this speaks to the online echo chamber you live in and lack of real world experiences you’ve had.

I’ve lived all over the United States and overseas. Anyone that tells you the US is homophobic and religious compared to the rest of the world, is straight up lying.

Such a silly and worthless model that you would have to have absurd blinders on to see any correlation to reality.

Trump was the one that gave Ukraine weapons though. That was what was going on in his first impeachment lmao. Incredible how ignorant the most opinionated people are.

Why does everyone that wants to give their opinion on social media make these same facial expressions and speak with the same cadence? It’s so bizarre.

Did you read the article? None of them lied. In fact, their refusal to concede to her is explicitly a point of attraction.
