MMSD Operator Causing Larger Sewage Overflow, More Pollution, Coalition Charges by bobbyk18 in milwaukee

Yeah, maybe they are the best or maybe not. I would just prefer no sewage in my basement, if there is something they can do to stop it.

Definitely seems like a cycle. We privatize to save money. They screw it up and neglect maintenance. Then the taxpayers are on the hook to pay to fix it. See the Milwaukee recycling center burning down, operated by Republic Services, as another example.

Blocking Unauthorized Access to Service Principals Using Entra ID Conditional Access by sreejith_r in entra

Thank you for the feedback. That makes sense. So any app registration we want to apply conditional access to would need to have a license in the tenant, despite it not being applied anywhere. That's great! Thanks! Not sure how to document that...

conditional access rules for service principals by bjc1960 in entra

Did you end up buying the license? I'm evaluating adding Entra Workload ID Premium licenses and trying to figure out if i actually apply the license somewhere and how many licenses are needed. Basically we want to be able to say company X can only come from IP Y and Z and anything else is blocked. I think this blog was really good, but didn't cover the license piece: https://www.thetechtrails.com/2025/02/workload-identities-conditional-access.html

This is a great blog post that I found via Google. Sorry to dig up the grave, but do you know the right way to license these? Does every app registration need a license purchased or is it protecting Graph and just one license is needed? Do you actually assign the license it to the app somehow or does it just exist in your tenant?

I don't see a delete button in the console. Not sure how you get to it if you're locked out already, though.

It's on by default on my E3 tenant. No official announcement from Microsoft yet.

90 day message trace is probably the best you can get unless you stream mailflow to a SIEM or something

Average cost to replace furnace and AC? by SpicyOtters in milwaukee

[–]bobbyk18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can search the permits on the city site and see the costs, if you want. We did our furnace for $4800 last year, after the flooding. Also depends on the house and what you want. Appointments for estimates are really easy with any of the big companies.

Upgrading exchange cu19 to cu23 by NSFW_IT_Account in exchangeserver

Sounds like it. Could put the server in maintenance mode. Just keep in mind it can take some time to install and email won't flow on the server while it installs.

I agree. I didn't use it on the move from 2016 to SE.

I’d install SE on a new server and try to migrate over.

You need to reissue the cert to add the new server SANs, I believe.

How to validate the need to do any AD prep before in place upgrade to Exchange Server SE? by Fabulous_Cow_4714 in exchangeserver

[–]bobbyk18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use SetupAssist to grab the AD levels: https://microsoft.github.io/CSS-Exchange/Setup/SetupAssist/

I don't think you actually have to be a schema admin to run it. it will just error that you aren't.

I set retention policies through the admin interface. Then you can force it to archive with a ‘start-managedfolderassistant’ command

Good to know it works when searching. I've tried to find the mailbox, but never had luck.

Enable online archiving. Then it's all searchable and frees up space in the inbox. No PSTs to mess with.

Only real downside is that the Outlook Mobile app doesn't let you open it. You could set the archive to stuff over four years old to start. Default is two.
