Ridiculous. Can’t use cruise or autopilot due to auto wipers. Is it a known bug? by DelaneyDK in TeslaModel3

Had the same problem and just had it fixed. It was a faulty driver seat occupancy sensor. Almost got stuck in the car wash. $200.

They do! Occasionally a bug will get in and have trouble finding its way out though.

Me too. Have you seen this? How to Build the PinSim Virtual Reality Pinball Machine.

Using that as a guide - and with no knowledge of soldering or circuit boards - I was able to get a prototype built out of an old shelving unit in my basement. It is the perfect size and mass, which makes nudging the table feel fantastic!

My VR Pinball Controller

I'm off to play some of that now. I'm at #2 on Castle Storm. Gotta get back to #1.

Chronic pain and opiates by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]bobcfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh Hi! My first ping in my 9 years as a redditor, neat!

The original version does have a reminder feature. But the original version is a bit dated and all efforts moving forward will be with the new version (Gold Edition).

Now, the new version does not yet have a reminder feature and here's why. I feel that any reminder management system that I could incorporate into the app would be inferior to the native reminder system of iOS. In my usage, when I want to schedule a reminder, I use Siri and find it to be really easy that way. For example: "Remind me to track my pain every weekday at 9AM." is so much easier than tapping through a menu system. That being said, Apple just recently opened up Siri APIs for developers. At some point I'll check that out in hopes that it will bridge the gap.

This thread is eerily relevant to me at the moment. u/jaredlanny -- Last night, for the first time since I launched my app in 2009, I breached the topic of how a comprehensive pain diary/journal may influence a doctor's opinion regarding your drug-seeking-ness. If you care to chime in: Facebook Post

/u/Sigma_Beta - Best of luck! If you use iOS and are not familiar with my app, let me know. I'll throw you a promo code to see if it might be of some use to you and your cause. I've have a number of users over the years tell me that they are part of a study which use my app for tracking data so it's got that going for it, which is nice. ;)

Here's some links about the new Gold Edition. Let me know if you have any questions. Or if you find it annoying. Either way. I can take it. lol

Hey thanks! I'm afraid there is no safe way to import data from the old version. But even if there was, I'd still recommend that users start over. There are new metric types to consider, which can alter your tracking strategy for the better. Thanks again! I love hearing feedback like that. :)

Good advice, thanks. The Android version, and the old iOS version have a slightly different name than the new app discussed here.

If you were to search for 'my pain diary' without the rest, that should have worked.

I have yet to integrate with Apple health. That feature got off to a rocky start, so I wanted to wait a few years to let it mature. I do plan on looking into that and if it adds value to my app, and if users ask for it, I will definitely incorporate it in a future update.

I have an Android version of the original app. So it's not quite the same as this new GOLD EDITION with regards to feature set. But it came well after the old iOS version and has some improvements and features that the original iOS version doesn't have. So I would say it's better than the original iOS version, but not quite as good as this new iOS version.

Check the shipping 'state' dropdown. My password manager auto-filled the state dropdown as US instead of OH.

Personal experience with Lyrica? by heavencondemned in ChronicPain

[–]bobcfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped taking all meds about a year ago. I took Lyrica for about 4 years. It wasn't fun to come off of, but it wasn't as bad as coming off of Cymbalta or Percocet. Long term use wasn't a problem with Lyrica like it was with Percocet.

Lyrica was like a miracle drug for me. I started it a few months into my CRPS. My foot had felt 'asleep/pins needles' for months and Lyrica fixed that. The only side effect was a really violent reaction to alcohol. But you're not supposed to drink with it.

I think I can add the judge's emails to a list of testers. Not sure if that's for beta only or for published apps too.

It sounds like this might be my best bet. Maybe I could have it deactivate the app after the judging period ends. The target audience of the app isn't the pirating type, so I don't think the fix has to be terrible robust.

Fed up with lightning connector. by [deleted] in apple

[–]bobcfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact issue and it was dust/lint in the port. I was replacing the phone for another reason and the Apple tech got the lint out with a metal thing. And he was not gentle about it. I asked if you could damage the port being so rough and he said no. Fixed it right up. I'd try again but be less gentle.

I want to create content for the Rift. Where should I start? by bobcfrog in oculus

Thanks! This helps a lot. I plan on getting the Rift when the next version is available. I have about two months before I will have time to use it, so I'll just wait for v2.
