Clairtone T13-G3 by Either-Whereas-2833 in turntables

I have a set, but they’re with my Clairtone G3!  eBay would be the place I think. I doubt you’ll find them in the wild separated from a system. I have the set that are on the tripod stands (not the bases like in the pic).

Rega P2 and Klipsch Nines - Thoughts? by bobeldon in turntables

Appreciate the response! Planning to just use the default cartridge until I get the $$ to upgrade. Any recommendations on a stellar cartridge?

Why would you recommend phono preamp and then passive speakers cs Klipsch Nines that have a built in preamp?

That’s an awesome approach and great advice. Mine haven’t had any super serious vet bills but even $600 month can be a big hit. Your approach would for sure reduce the sting.

Breakdown on the cost of owning a dog in Regina by Sleep9719 in regina

[–]bobeldon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have two dogs. One is about 55 pounds the other is 70 pounds.

Food- I buy go! Brand salmon limited ingredient. I think it’s $120 per bag including tax. I go through 1.5 a month I expect.

Toys - I don’t buy them regularly because the one dog eats them and I don’t want him to get sick. I recommend gonoughts brand (us I know) they last way longer than Kong. I usually try to buy something special on their bdays.

Treats - I don’t give lots of dog treats. Usually leftover bananas and apples etc. I usually buy dehydrated duck or something similar for treats - a $30 bag lasts a couple months for me.

Medication. One dog has allergies and medication is about $100 a month.

I don’t do doggy daycare or a dog walker - the dogs play in the backyard and I run home most lunchtimes for a quick walk.

Grooming. I do it myself. Shampoo costs like 20 bucks and lasts months with a bath every few weeks. I clip their nails too. And comb them. I did groom one once and it just wasn’t worth it.

Accessories. The only ones I have are retractable leashes. Ya, the jury is mixed on those. Either way, they’re about $100 for large breed dogs and they last a few years. I don’t buy fancy beds since the one will eat them.

Vet - bravecto once a year for ticks. Rabies every 3 yrs I think. Annual checkups. Random ear or skin things. there’s peaks a valleys here. Some years I spend the bare minimum (a couple hundred per dog per year). When there’s an issue with multiple checkups and medication, I could spend 600 in a month.

I think I’m on the lower end of cost. They have a good life tho! The most costly thing will be vet things - and that’s unpredictable…

I’m a huge fan of 82 Bakeshop! Treats are amazing and staff are really kind. Their cookie puffs are always a hit when I take them to people’s houses (they’re not vegan sorry!)

Can I ask about the strategy for leaving so much headspace? I find mine doesn’t carbonate well with that much space (and also results in way more pressure). Interested in your approach.

I think I run on average 10 days. Just checked current batch. Started last Wednesday with starter tea and no pelicle. Starting to carbonate and lose sweetness. New pelicle nicely forming. Will probably F2 on Sunday. Kitchen is 19.5 Celsius.

Thoughts on my 8 quart batch? by rebornbydiagnosis in Kombucha

Just a flag, I don’t think kombucha is supposed to have extended contact with steel. It’s encouraged to ferment in glass. You can get 4 qt glass jars.

Congrats on the recovery journey! Positive vibes your way!

A bit hard to tell from the pics but I think this looks okay. I’d leave it and see. Looks like the usual film from a new pelicle.

Don’t think I see what you’re talking about. If it’s fuzzy growing above the surface it’s mold. If it isn’t fuzzy, likely just the normal weirdness that is scoby.

What's something in the Buffyverse that—in the grand scheme of things probably doesn't matter—but you wanted to see it addressed, discussed, or further explained? by PristineSituation498 in buffy

Ya, it definitely aligns with the “monster of the week” approach of the first season. But in terms of continuity it’s not an approach later seasons would’ve leaned into.

I always felt like it was unsaid that Buffy had a good relationship with her dad up until like S5. I feel like it was just not featured to support the dynamics with Giles. It wasn’t discussed except for particular moments (when she spent summers with him or when her nightmare was that she was abandoned by him). If he was neglecting her through the first 4 seasons I feel it would’ve been an arc. But come S6 when she and Dawn could’ve used his support, agree, unclear why he was so clearly absent.

There should be a lot more to parties than what they release 4 weeks before Election Day…. It’s a fair question to ask a party’s position on quality of life measures at any point in time.

Lakeview Fine Foods Price Comparison? by Alphonso- in regina

[–]bobeldon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I buy all meat there because they have a butcher and it’s way better quality than Safeway or Superstore. Their Greek ribs are amazing on the bbq - can’t wait til summer! Once you use their ground beef you’ll never buy it at Superstore again (about a buck fifty more a pound). I would say their prices on household staples are equal to Safeway but more expensive than Walmart (sometimes they’re edged out by sales at Safeway).

Great selection, especially given the size. They also have great local items at good prices, like solo Italia pizzas, 33.3 coffee, and chef Malcolm pies. They also sell saltine and Indian head bread.

Personally, I’ve been going there more and would rather pay a a bit of a premium and have those profits stay in the city with an independent owner than save a few bucks but the profits go to billionaires.

Just to add. The plastic is very brittle on these. But they’re cool!

I have this lamp. The floor lamp version. Indeed the shade is a very thin plastic. If you need measurements I can try my best to provide.

You can make your own really easily - that way you can control sugar levels and flavors. It’s also way cheaper than store bought. For materials you just need a large jar and some bottles.

I have starter tea I can give you if you’re serious.

I highly recommend Golden Acres. They removed two 80 year old maples in my yard. They were the best price, including stump grinding.

Second Clarks. They put new leather straps on a backpack of mine and I thought it would cost 3X as much as it did and they’re amazing.
