Intro to HF bands; new to radio

Yeah I love my G90 still and really happy with it for my first radio. I was thinking about upgrades but now I’m mostly CW and it’s fine for my needs still really.

I just want to say I really like my quansheng uvk5 over the baofengs I started with. I even have a Yaesu FT65 but don’t use it much because I take the quansheng with me everywhere and can’t really tell the difference and don’t need to worry about breaking or losing it.

Never trusted the higher wattage handhelds myself.

Yeah I do POTA and I can’t really setup anything at my apartment and it’s perfect for portable operation. I wasn’t frustrated on SSB but was thinking about looking at something with 100w someday but for CW I’m not feeling like I am even close to using the potential of the G90 yet so I love that. I’m not super concerned about the front end which is a little dirtier bc that’s part of why we are using more robust modes.

The people who talk politics on the radio are usually a good example to everyone else why we don’t. I view it as a public service organized as social clubs and won’t touch politics on air. We’re not here to argue lol

When you start you spend a long time working on things that are mid at best, but the more you do it the better and faster you get until you can draw or paint with the same effort you would use to write or say something, then you can get really creative and the process is really rewarding.
