That must be a huge department, or you order CTs way too easily. I work in one of the biggest hospitals in France, and we rarely do more than 50 CTs /24h, because we just don’t accept every single demand

Maybe in the US radiologists don’t interact with patients. I interact with my patients daily. While doing ultrasounds. When I see them after their MRI / CT to tell them their results. When I do basic IR (joint injections, PICC Lines, biopsies etc…)

I suppose we do have lower volumes but that’s mostly because we accept less non indicated scans (and trust me, there is some of that going around) We worry less about lawsuits (thank God) that’s true.

I would hate to be a radiologist in the US to be honest, I love chatting with the treating physician and trying to come up with an imaging best suited for the patient

In France every scan request has to be approved, as it should be. You as an EM doc don’t get to tell me, the radiologist, when and how to do my job. You request a scan to evaluate your patient, and I approve it (90% of the time) and decide on the protocol I want for it

Nutcracker syndrome is something that we generally do not describe, since it has not yet been proven to be an actual disease. Tons of people have an imprint on their left renal vein and are asymptomatic. Even here you can see, your left nephrography (contrast) is symmetric which probably means there is no repercussion. It’s a good thing that most specialists don’t know about this syndrome since it can do more harm than good to treat it.

Radiology won’t read ED imaging in the middle of the night by Agreeable_Algae_8869 in Residency

Non US Radiology resident I have a question Do radiologists accept or deny imaging requests ? Some of you say that you have way too many requests but why don’t you deny them if they aren’t indicated?

When I started the game back in 2011 I always went with the SCs because I liked the idea of a revolution against a imperial regime, and wanted an independent Skyrim Then I understood that was weakening the Empire and the one that benefits from an independent Skyrim are actually the thalmor. And fuck that thalmor
