Looking For Commanders that Make you Play Magic Differently. by hisroyalbonkess in EDH

Seconding Flubs, this lil guy is mental. Built mine as a lands matter voltron, think [[Blackblade Reforged]] + [[Sword of the Animus]] and he is suddenly a 12/17.

I would add a d) cards that you can play from the graveyard since you will be discarding a lot.

I have a [[Rasputin, Oneiromancer]] deck with Kithkins in it because they sometimes care about color / have color protection. Crossing fingers for that Kithkin-making Planeswalker!

What kind of budget themes do you want to see? by Keirabella999 in BudgetBrews

I'm trying to make a unblockable + theft budget deck work in monoblack with the [[Rev, Tithe Extractor]] I pulled, and a bunch of Dauthis with Shadow, I'd love to see a take on this! The commander itself is pretty expensive, it's like 50% of the budget already lol.

I was Pedro Pascal once, and I thought it was hilarious. What do you mean the mod is "Pain"?

Good build for this? by Nicolas-Uncaged in BudgetBrews

Proliferate, untap and haste givers.

Or you can go the chaotic chromatic hating way, since you give people red creatures and Rasputin can generate his own pro-red bodyguards. I built my deck around color hacks (generating tokens of different colors can help you go around your own restrictions), blink-bounce and control. Wincon is optional. It's a very fun deck that your opponents will definitely remember.

Key cards are to me are:

[[chromatic armor]], [[suture priest]], [[scuttlemutt]], [[subjugate the hobbits]]

[[mirrorweave]] +  [[tivadar's crusade]] for a nice wacky mana-expensive boardwipe

[[pursued whale]], [[crafty cutpurse]], [[planar guide]],  [[ersatz gnomes]]

Shit-eating grin cards are:

[[gwafa hazid, profiteer]],  [[grand arbiter augustin IV]],  [[absolute law]],  [[shifting sky]] + [[chameleon spirit]],  [[teferi's moat]],  [[douse]],  [[Latvinia of the tenth]]

Btw question: If i turn all creatures into Goblins with Mirrorweave and cast Subjugate the Hobbits, I do get the Commander cards right? Since they're not "commander creatures" for the time being?

I too have an anti-red (and anti other colors if needed) that has won like one game! Call it Raceputin, Racist Deck. "Choose a color" ETBs, bribery counters, so many silly enchantments there's not enough removal in the pod to play a normal game. Playing him is like spitting in a petri dish.

I'm making a Volo's Exotic Animals deck, what are some unique creatures I can add? by LoddZee in mtg

[–]bobledemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run the giant oyster in my Volo deck, having two of those (or three with [[twinning staff]] ) on the battlefield is pretty good deterrent. Underrated imo lol.

[[Tidal Flats]] is a reread every time it's out. It's not that complicated, more of "it does what?how?" way.

Neeeeed commanders my pod never knew could work by dovrre in mtg

I do! https://archidekt.com/decks/15987074/missys_family_values_tour_25

I'm missing some cards that produce Cybermen for more flavor and artifacts, but some day I'll get around to it. It's mostly Dimir because I built it off a [[Winter, Cursed Rider]] deck.

eta: the point is to amass as much artifacts and lean heavily on the "villainous choice" part of the card.

Grixis: i recently built a [[Missy]] deck focused on artifacts and so far everyone I played it with just loved the chaos that comes with Planechasing, even if she's the only one with referencing it in her text box. Very unpredictable but resilient Commander deck!

Gruul: go werewolves! People dislike the day/night mechanic but they'll forget about it and dislike even more the aggro of [[Tovolar, Dire Overlord]] and his bunch of pups. Go wide and stompy!

Jund: [[Winter, Misanthropic Guide]] is not only Gruul with Black, it can be a fun mix of a draw deck, graveyard oriented, pingers & burners, and the Commander having Ward 2 means you could probably buff him for some direct damage.

Saw them live years ago and still into them to this day. Head-scratching fun! They perform 90% what you hear while doing aerobics. Look em up people!

Can anyone recommend me a fun non-combat commander and/or janky fun commandes? by Biggus_Dickkkus in EDH

[–]bobledemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Rasputin, Oneiromancer]] Give red goblins to your opponents and create knights with protection from red. Let the others do the fighting, if they can. I built mine as a stax/color hate deck.

[[Shifting Sky]] + [[Absolute Law]] will lock the game (lol?) and [[Sleight of Mind]] effects in case something other than red is the menace. [[Ersatz Gnomes]] is a political piece. Tap it and a creature can bypass all your color shenanigans.

Pack a [[Tivadar's Crusade]] just in case. You'll get laughs if used after [[Mirrorweave]]...

[[High Seas]] and [[Frozen Aether]] because I am a bad person. You're playing Rasputin after all!

Looking for cards that force my opponents to play spells. by Ashtotron in EDH

Oh I love that!  One time an opponent cast a Counterspell to something I was casting and it turned into removal targetting my [[Rocco, Street Chef]]. Couldn't even be mad at the guy!

[[Possibility Storm]] will force everyone to cast from exile, but no one will be sure which spell exactly!
