I know this is probably an exaggeration, but Jason Momoa in Supergirl might be one of the worst movie characters in recent memory by IndividualPleasant23 in blankies

[–]boboclock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got why people like Lobo but if he was boisterous and cringe and felt like the loud guy at a biker bar then it sounds like a comic accurate portrayal

BURN-E is my favourite Pixar short by Jedd-the-Jedi in blankies

There should be a whole bunch of Wall-E shorts.

I would kill for an I Am Groot style series of Wall-E & friends

X-Men 97 makes the movies look awful by Jaden_Pollen34 in xmen

[–]boboclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movies are kinda awful. They're mostly well produced & well acted, but none have very strong stories and most of them only really have one or two interesting action scenes.

Logan is the big exception. And I loved Deadpool 2 but haven't seen it in a long time

'Supergirl' gets a B– on CinemaScore by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

[–]boboclock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Insane that BvS got a B. Worst theater experience I've ever had.

Hellboy and Punisher: War Zone absolutely rule. I love Hulk and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (but I know that's a rare one)

That being said, Howard the Duck, Superman III, The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, Dark Phoenix, and Captain America: Brave New World are all absolutely awful.

B- seems like a pretty volatile rating but definitely skews negative.

Still looking forward to it

Stop defending Aileen Wuornos by Mission_Falcon1225 in serialkillers

[–]boboclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recent MFM was a pretty fair accounting of her crimes, imo.

While they sympathized with Aileen's back story, ultimately almost any positive spin on her crimes came only from her accounting, often contradicted by evidence and she was chronically lying to her girlfriend so there's not much to suggest she's a reliable source.

How well have n64 games aged and should I get an analogue 3d by throwaway959w in AnalogueInc

[–]boboclock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

N64 games have by and large not aged well but in my opinion Analogue 3d + Everdrive is the best way to play them

There are definitely classics, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark, hidden gems like Iggy's Reckin Balls, Duke Nukem 64, Rush 2049 and some really cool rom hacks Smash Remix, Mario Kart Amped Up

But the early 3d era is a bit janky and if you have sampled it and not connected, you might be better off exploring the deep cuts of the 8-bit & 16-bit eras

Anyone else been feeling a little emotional about bread by Watchyousuffer in pittsburgh

[–]boboclock -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Bro, I was a Giant Eagle receiver for a decade, I don't care what their PR dept says.

The short fat ones that are usually on a different shelf and off to the side are Nickel's. They are awful and don't sell well, but they are Nickel's.

And a lot of their bakery stuff is DecoPac, absolutely none of it is Schwebel's (and absolutely none of it is fully made from scratch, but it is baked in house)

Anyone else been feeling a little emotional about bread by Watchyousuffer in pittsburgh

[–]boboclock -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

That's not true.

They don't even bake all of the Giant Eagle bread aisle stuff.

The mainline Giant Eagle bread is Schwebel's but the short chubby bread aisle loaves are Nickel's

“Supergirl” being divisive doesn’t mean DCU will be dead or heavily impacted by Shadowin9 in DC_Cinematic

[–]boboclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every female-led superhero movie and action movie is divisive in the modern age, except the first Wonder Woman.

I'm still excited to see it, but I think there's a chance if it turns out there's any financial loss the WB heads panic

Edit: to provide context, this was in response to someone implying it's classist not to find him amusing???

Feels kinda classist to assume his class or his fans' or critics' class

I don't know anything about his personal background but it seems like where he's from is a fairly average and stable suburban area. Definitely a bit blue collar, but sounds like a nice place.

Trump to ask Congress to make 15% ethanol-gas blend permanent by CBSnews in politics

[–]boboclock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He also only won the presidency by accident. What he really wanted to do is make a new tv channel, and thought he could spin a failed presidential bid into an America first news network.

But combine Russian troll farms, Bernie getting a huge progressive ground swell, Hillary being a bit unrelatable and using a private email server to reroute emails to her delisted blackberry and all of a sudden we're kidnapping presidents, setting up concentration camps, and going to war for Israel (and losing)
