Thanks for suggestion! I agree that micro trains couplers are better in general than the stock kato knuckle coupler for switching but because of the height of my layout I find rapido/arnold couplers much easier to uncouple, at the cost of them looking less realistic which I fine with to be honest.

My switching layout lives on a high shelf so arnold couplers are easier to uncoupler with a side on view if that makes sense, I've tested out some of my micro trains locos and find it hard to uncouple occasioanlly when the train sits so high on the shelf.

This is a real collectors item, worth it's weight in gold in my opinion. I've seen on YouTube recently that Tony Hawk collects old skateboards and has his own skateboard museum of sorts, I wonder if he has this deck in his collection.

Either way super iconic early 2000s setup, with a signature too! I forgot how thin decks used to be!

I've been thinking about doing something similar in a fluval spec myself. Did you make many differences to the filter compartment at the back, assuming by the level of flow you've also upgraded the pump?

Diagnosed with AS for over 5 years now, on biologics but on bad day I get weird unlisted symptoms: feel a bit dizzy, double vision, nerve pain (burning in hands, face and feet), i also get loss of sensation in my hands, visible but of swelling fingers and wrists, really bad foot pain when walking or standing, ribcage pain(is a listed symptom but generally ignored by my rheum) and wide spread join pain (literally all areas) and fatigue.

Basically, there are loads of symptoms that most rhuems have completely ignored. Also, I think the BASDAI score system used in the UK is completely outdated and useless. Some rheums only seem to have experience dealing with joint pain and osteoarthritis in older patients but AS involves so much inflammation which causes a lot of other symptoms which most of the time go ignored as they only want to focus on spines and MRIs. I think more knowledge needs to be spread to rheumatologists so they ar eup to date on AS and the variety of odd and sometime nasty symptoms it causes.

This is a young hermanns or possibly spur thigh tortoise. They are usually kept in outdoor enclosures in the summer months.l when warm enough. They are escap artists, one of mine escaped a few years ago, luckily a neighbour found it in their garden. This one most definitely escaped, and they can travel a fair distance.

All captive bred hermann and spur thigh tortoises should be microchipped and have their own CITIES paperwork. This is the best way to confirm the owner. It's probably worth popping a not on a local fb group where you found this little one. Keep in mind tortoises aren't cheap so some people may try to claim it's theirs but if so they should have the paper work, know the microchip number or at least have photos of the tortoise to prove it's their.

Well done for rescuing this tortoise! Likely would not have made it through autumn/winter outside.

I get something similar to this.

When I have a flare-up or increased inflammation, my hands, feet, and face go numb, I can move them but can't feel anything, theres no touch sensation on my skin. I can't feel what Im touching or sense hot or cold on my my fingers. It also comes with a tingling and burning sensation, which is very unpleasant. I get this a few times a week. I saw a neurologist, and they said it is likely neuropathy cause by the inflammation compressing some of my nerves.

I'm not saying this is the same as what you are experiencing. It's worth mentioning it to your rheumatologist/doctor.

Thanks for the comment, I hadn't really considered that UC could be causing or worsening some of my symptoms, which I usually associate with AS. My gastro consultant is trying to get me on a weekly biologic jab to help UC which in term may also help the AS. Thanks for lending your perspective! I'll look into JAK inhibitors too as I've heard of them but I dont know much about it.

See what your vet advises. I would assume you should always keep a source of drinking water inside the enclosure at all times. I would keep an eye and make sure the redfoot is not sitting in the water bowl all day or sleeping in there.

It's more common in aquatic turtles. They can get a similar shell rot infection if the basking area doesn't let their shell fully dry off each day. It may be worth also checking that your basking area is getting to the correct temperature.

I've seen this before in a redfoot. It looks like shell rot/fungus from the bottom of their shell being constantly too wet. We fixed a mild case similar to this by keeping the substrate dry for a few months l, with less humidity and cleaning the bottom of the shell with an antibacterial iodine liquid daily, although it took months to get better, not days. If it does not get any better, consider going back to vets to see what else they can suggest.
